The Scent of Woman Empowerment

Talk about a step in the right direction! After 13 long years, Calvin Klein has finally come out with a new fragrance - and it’s made specifically for women! In its first collaboration with designer Raf Simons, the new scent is both woody and delicate, making it a fusion of strength and fragility, freshness and sensuality. And who better to rep Calvin Klein’s Women than strong and brilliant actresses Lupita Nyong’o and Saoirse Ronan! Set to launch on August 15, the new fragrance is already making noise online as the #IAMWOMEN movement is in full swing. We’re eager for this scent to reach our shores and our noses!

The Perfect Blend?

Beauty Blender just teased over on their official Instagram page that they are, in fact, coming out with their very own foundation! That’s right! The cult fave bouncy sponge will now have its perfect match - the Bounce Foundation ($40). A whipped, liquid foundation with a matte finish, this is the first venture into makeup for the 11-year-old brand. There will be 32 shades to choose from and these velvet bases will be available at Sephora US starting July 24.

However, there is controversy surrounding this release because some bloggers on Instagram have observed that there are only a few dark shades as opposed to lighter ones. Beauty Blender defends itself, saying that the promo images were not how the shades actually look like. I guess we'll see when the line comes out in a few days!

There's An App For That!

Picking out a new lip color is always fun but let's face: all that swatching can get messy! To make makeup shopping more fun, easy, and hygienic, Estée Lauder has launched an in-store app that you can access in all their stores! Hosted on a tablet device, the app allows you to digitally browse the store, watch video tutorials, and try on any and all of the EL lipsticks with just a tap. Developed in partnership with YouCam Makeup, you can use the app to apply all the different lipstick formulas, finishes and shades with a live filter. Found one that you love? You can take a photo and email to yourself for easy reference!

The app also includes features like makeup application videos, product recos, and a guide to finding the best foundation for what your skin needs. Estée Lauder hopes that this will improve the beauty shopping experience, especially for those who don't like being tailed around by an SA! The app is now available in all Estée Lauder stores.
