A Cheat Sheet to Ever Bilena's New Face Wand Brushes and Makeup Accessories

It feels like a necessary rite of passage lately for a Filipino makeup brand to release their own makeup brushes, either as a collab or as its own collection. Ever Bilena did the latter with the recently released Face Wand collection of brushes to add to their existing lineup of makeup tools.

There are eight brushes in the collection to cover your entire makeup routine, all of which you can purchase separately, so it's possible to get only what you need. Except for the EB Silicone Lip Brush, all the brushes have synthetic bristles that supposedly make it effortless to create "a smooth, soft-focus look." The handles are mostly muted pink, with subtle, rose gold-tinged metallic ferrules that look chic on the vanity.

Let's check out the two lip brushes first. The EB Silicone Lip Brush (P201) has a non-absorbent silicone tip that mimics a fingertip but is easier to clean. Because the silicone doesn't soak up product, you get more payoff from your pot formulas and far less waste, and a quick wipe is all it takes to get it spotless again. I like using this on the go for my pot lip/blush combos for more hygienic application, since I'm not dipping my fingers into the product over and over. The flexible tip also makes it easy to pat and blend color right where I want it, whether I'm building up a bold lip or sheering things out for a softer wash.

The other lip brush is the EB Lip Smudge Brush (P201), which comes in a convenient mini size for creating gradient lips on the go. The compact head gives you precise control, and it blurs out velvet lip products quite well, especially around the edges for that French-bitten lip look. I find it diffuses color toward the center of the lips effortlessly, softening any harsh lines so you're left with that naturally flushed, just-stained finish.

Now on to the base, and we have two. The EB Flat Cream Brush (P251) is good for base application, specifically cream formulas. The brand put an emphasis on "minimizing product absorption for maximum coverage," and the densely packed, flat bristles do seem to sit product on top of the skin rather than drinking it up, so a little goes a long way. The shape makes it easy to press and buff cream foundation, concealer, or contour into the skin for a seamless, full-coverage finish without wasting product.

While it does the job for creamy bases, I quite like this for cream blush application. I hope it keeps its shape even after a lot of wash cycles, as I find the size just right for blending out on the apples of the cheeks. The flat, compact head picks up just the right amount of product and diffuses it evenly, so you avoid those harsh patches that cream blush can sometimes leave behind.

The EB Concealer Brush (P201) is for targeted coverage using cream or liquid products. The tapered, flat head fits neatly into smaller areas, making it easy to spot-conceal blemishes or dot product exactly where you need it. It does a decent job applying concealer on the undereye area, though I prefer a bigger brush for when I just use concealer alone as my entire base, since the smaller head takes a bit more time to cover that much surface.

There are three brushes in the collection that are ideal for powder product application. If you want a versatile brush, the EB All Around Brush (P231) can be used for blush, highlight, and blending. As the name suggests, it's a true multitasker: the fluffy, domed head is soft enough to diffuse blush without overloading the cheeks, precise enough to place highlight on the high points, and tapered just right for buffing out any harsh lines. It's the kind of brush you reach for when you want to keep your kit minimal but still cover several steps.

On the other hand, the shape of the bristles makes the EB Angled Blending Brush (P231) perfect for blending blush and contour. The angled cut hugs the contours of the face, fitting naturally along the cheekbones and hollows so color goes exactly where you want it before blending out seamlessly. The EB Powder Brush (P251), meanwhile, is good for even, all-over powder setting. I like the fluffiness of this particular brush, as I feel like it gets the job done fast. The large, soft head picks up just enough product to set the face in a few sweeps without disturbing your base or leaving any cakey buildup.

The last in the collection is the EB Eyeshadow Brush (P231), made specifically for eyeshadow application. It can be used for color and shadow placement, eye definition, and lid blending, with a head that's compact enough to pack pigment onto the lid yet soft enough to diffuse it through the crease. I actually use this for nose contour, as I like to have more options for eye makeup, which I hope Ever Bilena releases in the future. The brand has the basics well covered here, but a wider range of eye brushes, think a dedicated crease or smudger brush, would round out the collection nicely.

Aside from the Face Wands, Ever Bilena also has other tools like eyelash curlers and sponges that can help improve our makeup routine. They even have three types of eyelash curlers, so there's a higher chance of finding the right fit for your eye shape and needs. I especially like the EB Curve Eyelash Curler, not only because of its all-pink look but also because it easily gives my lashes a natural-looking curl.

The EB Blend Me Sponge (P206) even has a new look with a hot pink gradient. The EB Dewdrop Beauty Sponge (P131) can be used wet and dry, and I like its bigger size for larger areas like the forehead and sides of the face. The EB Mallow Makeup Sponge (P171) comes in the same lovely pink shade that matches the rest of the collection.

Overall, the Face Wand Collection provides a great beginner's set from Ever Bilena fit #ForEveryBeauty. With eight brushes covering everything from base to eyes and an accessible price range, it's an easy entry point for anyone building their first kit or looking to upgrade their tools without breaking the bank. The cohesive muted pink design is a nice bonus, too, making the whole collection feel more polished than its price would suggest. I just wish they came out with a matching case, as I like how they all look together and would love a way to keep them organized.
