Sleep as Self-Care: Estée Lauder Puts the Spotlight on Rest and Renewal

Beauty products can help us reach our aesthetic and wellness goals, but sometimes, the real game-changer is something as simple as a good night’s sleep. This year’s World Sleep Day theme, “Make Sleep Health a Priority,” is a great reminder of that. To celebrate, Project Vanity joined Estée Lauder’s event at Dexterton in BGC—and the pairing couldn’t have been more perfect. After all, Estée Lauder is best known for their Advanced Night Repair line, a skincare icon that’s all about nighttime renewal.

Estée Lauder World Sleep Day at Dexterton with Brand Ambassador, BJ Pascual

World Sleep Day is all about raising awareness on the importance of sleep for our overall health. The event was founded by the World Association of Sleep Medicine (WASM) and the World Sleep Federation (WSF) to help advance knowledge on sleep, circadian rhythms, and sleep-related disorders around the world. Personally, I used to stay up late in college—and to be honest, I still do now for work—but I’ve been making a conscious effort to get better quality sleep. I know I function so much better when I do.

This advocacy aligns beautifully with Estée Lauder’s approach to skincare. Their products are developed with what they call Sleep Science, where their researchers study everything from circadian rhythms to how the skin renews itself at night. You can really see that science at work in their iconic Advanced Night Repair Serum (P3,050 for 20ml, P4,800 for 30ml, P6,800 for 50ml on sale), which I’ve used off and on for years. Even other Project Vanity writers have had solid results with it—it’s one of those serums that quietly but consistently delivers.

While the ANR serum can be used on its own, it is half of the brand's powerhouse nighttime duo; the other half is the Estée Lauder Revitalizing Supreme+ Night Power Bounce Cream (P9,250 for 75ml). This product reduces lines, improves skin elasticity, and adds radiance. The duo used together makes the most of your beauty sleep, with an overall effect like #OvernightMagic.

There are other products in the Advanced Night Repair line like the Estée Lauder Advanced Night Repair Eye Matrix (P5,800 for 15ml) which I have also tried and loved. Its cryo-steel wand helps and I did see the fine lines around my eyes improving. The ANR line in general is meant for night use when the skin is repairing itself while you sleep though you can use the ANR for daytime. It works well mixed with the Double Wear Stay-in-Place Liquid Foundation to lighten the coverage.

You can also support these beauty treatments with daytime-focused products from the same brand; for example, the Bounce Cream has the Estée Lauder Revitalizing Supreme+ Youth Power Soft Crème (P7,550 for 50ml, P8,400 for 75ml) as a morning counterpart for lifting and firming during the day.

As part of this year's celebrations, Estée Lauder also announced their first ever Global Sleep Science Advisor, Dr. Matthew Walker. A video was shared on their FB page regarding what makes good sleep, and I look forward to learning about more sleep-related info even after the World Sleep Day or Sleep Week has passed.

The Advanced Night Repair line is available in-store and online at the  Estée Lauder Lazada Flagship Store.
