FYI, I am basically going to live in these two lipsticks until I die

I rarely ever finish lipsticks. I can’t even remember the last lipstick I used down to the base, which is why mini lipsticks delight me endlessly. Recently though I’ve come by two absolutely gorgeous lipsticks that deserve a spotlight here on Project Vanity, and a permanent place in my actual makeup vanity (which is btw a perpetual mess, the very definition of chaos, so favorites must ALWAYS in front and center!). These would be the Estee Lauder Pure Color Envy Lipsticks in Rose Tea and Boldface (P1,900 on Lazada)- the ultimate MLBB and the ultimate red lipstick for me, respectively.

I’ve always been impressed by the Estee Lauder Pure Color Envy formula because it’s rich and buttery and hydrating on the lips, plus it stays on for at least four solid hours if I don’t eat or drink. If I do eat/drink, it requires minimal maintenance to retouch or even just leave as is since most of the colors stain well. The packaging is also stunning with its sleek finish, expensive heft, and magnetic closure. There are so, so many colors and variants available at this point that it’s hard to keep track!

A good “my lips but better” color is quite easy to find because brands always have a staple wearable pink brown in their selection. For me, the perfect MLBB would be a perfect balance between pink and brown; so it can’t be too dark, too pale, or too bright all at the same time, and therein lies the challenge! Estee Lauder’s Rose Tea is exactly that for my skin tone. It almost looks like a warm nude on my lips, except the pink gives it a sweet touch.

Estee Lauder’s Boldface on the other hand is quite the stunner. It’s a bright, almost neon red with a slight coral undertone. The finish I would say is a satin (same as Rose Tea). Even though it’s bright, it’s a bit on the deep side of the color spectrum. Does that make sense? In any case, it’s impossible to miss in a room! It’s the kind of red that brightens up my skin and teeth immediately. This is at 100% opacity in a single swipe and doesn’t bleed on me, but I would still recommend blotting this once and applying another layer so it stays on even after a meal.

So yes, I am going to live in these lipsticks until the world ends. I imagine I will have affairs with other tubes (I blame my job) but I know I will always go back to these. <3
