Budget Beauty: What do Cebu beauty bloggers hoard at the drugstore?

Who's NOT guilty of binge-watching YouTube and reading beauty blogs for some awesome beauty inspiration? There are so many brands and products available so it's nice to be able to count on beauty bloggers for reviews, tutorials, and hacks! We especially love discovering what their favorite budget-friendly drugstore finds are because there's nothing quite as satisfying as scoring a great product on the cheap. Today, we give the spotlight to five Cebu-based beauty bloggers and ask them: If they had only P500 to spare, what beauty products would they hoard from the drugstore?

Chinky Enopia of Chinkytita

I usually buy the basics, which include all affordable items needed to achieve a full face of makeup. I would get the QuickFX Tinted Moisturizer (P100) which acts as my skincare and foundation in one, Careline Pressed Powder (P75) to set the base, and Nichido Blush in Cool Rum (P88) which blends smoothly on top of anything. Of course, since kilay is life, I have to get an eyebrow pencil and my go-to is the Careline Eyebrow Pencil (P65). Lastly, you can’t forget a good liptint and my favorite is the Careline Lip and Cheek Tint (P95) for a very fresh and put-together look.

Joanna Cuenco of Beauty Enthusiast Cebu

For lip products, I love getting the Ever Bilena Matte lipstick in Dusk (P165) because the brownish red hue is perfect for Filipina skin tones and Maybelline’s Baby Lips lip balm (P109) for days when I want to keep things low key with just a hint of color while keeping my lips moisturized. The Ever Bilena Advance Silky Eyeliner (P100) is very pigmented, glides on without tugging, and has good staying power. Also can't forget my fave Rubber Grip Tweezers (P65) which I will never stray away from - one pair lasts me for years!

My first stop would be at Rose Pharmacy, and I would grab the Guardian Jeju Aloe Vera Face Mask (P49). I've tried a lot from other brands but I keep coming back to this! It is ultra-soothing and I like that the sheet is thicker than most face mask sheets out in the market. I also really like the Guardian Soft & Care Makeup Remover Wipes (P36), which has a water-based formula so it's really gentle on my skin. Next stop is at Watsons for the Hairfix Keratin Straight Leave On Hair Spray (P69), a really affordable detangler spray. I like using this when my hair is a bit damp as it it helps my hair behave when it’s completely dried.

The Mia Care Spot Care Patch for Night (P159) is even better than the COSRX pimple patches IMHO. It is transparent, sticks really well, and doesn't move. I occasionally get a pimple or two, and this really helps shrink it. I really like minty lip balms and the Mentholatum LipIce Lip Balm (P89) is my favorite. I particularly like the lemon-scented variant but it hasn't been available for a while so I have been grabbing the strawberry one lately. Although not drugstore, I want to mention The Face Shop’s Cleansing Sea Sponge (P80) which I use with my facial wash for a more thorough cleansing.

Kimberly Lam of Miss Shopcoholic

I love getting the Purederm Makeup Remover Cleansing Towelettes (P90) as they remove BB cream and powder gently and effectively without drying my skin. The Argan Oil variant is my favorite. The Maybelline Eye and Lip Makeup Remover (P120) is also good and doesn't sting my eyes. I would definitely grab the Maybelline Hypercurl Waterproof Mascara (P199) because it does a good job of lengthening my non-existent lashes and it is budge-proof! The L'Oreal Color Riche lipsticks (P400) are also a good addition to my cart, especially in Peach Dream because it is the perfect peachy nude shade for everyday use. The quality of these lippies is at par with my other high-end lippies. The In2it Sheer Shimmer Blush (P499) is also worth hoarding because it is the perfect dupe for MAC Mineralize Blushes for a lit-from-within kind of glow because of its fine shimmers.

Yasmin Abijay of Inside Makeup Beauty

I am a makeup addict and I love trying new makeup products, but at the end of the day, removing my makeup is a must! I take removing my makeup seriously and make sure that my face is free of any dirt and excess oil. Since I have very dry, acne-prone, sensitive skin and PCOS, I keep my skincare routine as simple as possible. I swear my life on Pond’s Acne Clear AntiAcne Facial Foam (P155) and Pond's White Beauty Pore Conditioning Toner (P89). I have already tried other skincare products and while some were amazing, my super sensitive skin would usually get a bad reaction.

The Colourette Intense Blend Lip and Cheek Oil in Thalia (P229) is a product that I always use, both on the cheeks and lips. It gives beautiful flush on the cheeks that work for a drunken blush look and it lasts the entire day. It also contains argan oil, which is rich in antioxidants that are super good for your skin.

We'd love to hear from our Cebu-based readers! Do you spot any of your favorites on this list? What under P500 products do you hoard from the drugstore?
