REVIEW: Blackwater Women Perfume Lotion Spray

Product photography by Perkin Gotohio

You've probably heard of fragrance layering by now. Beauty experts say that if you want your perfume to last longer, you should apply a lotion first, then layer your fragrance on top. It makes sense: perfume clings better to moisturized skin, helping it stay put instead of evaporating too quickly. The perfume oil will tend to combine better on an emollient base like a lotion so you get more long-wearing results.

Now, what if you could do both in one go? Blackwater Women took that idea and ran with it. Their new Perfume Lotion Spray (P220 / 200 g) is the first of its kind in the Philippines, being a lightweight hybrid of body lotion and fragrance that you can spray directly onto your skin. Sounds gimmicky no? But wait, it actually works!

The formula is powered by skin-loving ingredients like Vitamin E, Ceramides, Hyaluronic Acid, and Niacinamide to help keep skin soft, hydrated, and glowy. And yes, it does give that subtle sheen, especially when sprayed on legs and shoulders. It looks good in photos!. This is the kind of product that nice to apply on places you wouldn’t normally place your more expensive perfumes.

The spray mechanism dispenses a thin, even veil of lotion that melts into the skin instantly. It’s not sticky, greasy, or overly wet, as it’s just enough to give you a fresh burst of scent while lightly moisturizing your skin. It’s not going to replace a thick, rich body butter on dry skin days, but for regular use and quick touch-ups, it’s such a clever, time-saving option. Great for tossing into your bag or using after a shower when you want to feel a little extra put-together with minimal effort.

Available in four scents called Musk, Rosé, Bliss, and Bloom, there’s something for everyone here, whether you’re into warm, musky tones or bright floral layers. My personal pick is Bliss. It smells sweet but sophisticated with its crisp fruit and soft florals, nothing too heavy or cloying. Perfect for everyday use by itself!

Overall, this product is a quiet little innovation. It streamlines your routine without compromising on either skincare or fragrance. For the price point and versatility, it’s definitely a good buy, especially if you're into scent-layering or just want something new and fun in your routine.
