Beauty Roundup: Happy Skin Lip Oil Stick, Colourette Face Base Routine, Majeskin by Maja Salvador, and e.l.f. Cosmetics acquires Rhode by Hailey Bieber

This week’s star-studded Beauty News Roundup brings us a couple of new local launches, a new celebrity skin care brand, and a billion-dollar beauty deal. Happy Skin cosmetics launches a new lip oil, this time in a convenient stick format. Colourette completes their Face Base collection with the new Sun Base Sunscreen Primer and Third Base Invisible Setting Powder. Maja Salvador partners with Beautederm’s Rhea Anicoche-Tan, launching her own bodycare brand named Majeskin. Last but definitely not the least, Hailey Bieber sells Rhode to e.l.f. Cosmetics for a (speculated) one billion dollars.

Happy Skin Lip Oil Stick

At first glance, Happy Skin’s newest lippie might look just like any other tinted lip balm, but don’t be fooled! The new Happy Skin Lip Oil Stick (P549) combines the hydrating power of a lip oil with the buildable color payoff of a lipstick, in a convenient twist-up bullet packaging.

Expect it to feel like a creamy lipstick upon immediate application, until it melts seamlessly onto lips for lasting hydration. Infused with six (6) pure oils (Meadowfoam Seed Oil, Jojoba Seed Oil, Macadamia Seed Oil, Sweet Almond Oil, Kahai Oil, and Squalane), it revives dry lips and locks in moisture for up to 24 hours.

It comes in six (6) classic shades that can be worn as a sheer wash of color or built up for brighter color: Jetset (shimmer peach), Mischief (nude brown), R&R (warm brown), Euphoria (dusty rose), Deja Vu (pink brown), and Cloud Nine (rosy pink).

Try it out now at the nearest Happy Skin Boutique, Watsons or SM Store. Or get your Lip Oil Stick online at official Happy Skin accounts via Lazada, Shopee, Tiktok, and Zalora. These are also available worldwide via happyskincosmetics.com.

Colourette 4-step Face Base Routine

If you have tried and love Colourette’s First Base Skin Tint and Second Base Concealer, you might like their newest releases that will complete your face base routine. Colourette’s newest muse, influencer Liege Perey, shows us how Colourette covers all the bases with a 4-step face base routine featuring their newest releases Sun Base SPF 45 Everyday Sunscreen Primer and Third Base Invisible Setting Powder.

Colourette Sun Base Everyday Sunscreen Primer SPF 45 (P599, 30mL) is the ideal first step in a makeup routine, prepping the skin while protecting with broad-spectrum SPF 45. Designed to be moisturizing without the sticky feel, it feels lightweight on the skin and does not leave a white cast.

Set your makeup with Colourette Third Base Invisible Setting Powder (P599), a talc-free powder that works with all skin tones as it has zero white cast. It also helps blur pores while locking in your makeup from day to night.

Not gonna lie, this looks like a great easy-breezy option for everyday looks! Ace your base in four easy steps with Colourette’s Face Base Collection, now available on all the official brand platforms online.

Majeskin by Maja Salvador

Beautiful actress Maja Salvador launches her own beauty brand, Majeskin. She shares on social media that it was a “Dream come true moment” as the brand officially launched last May 23rd.

Beautederm’s Rhea Anicoche-Tan helped make the dream a reality. A collaboration between the two powerhouses resulted in a bodycare line “made to feel luxurious yet stay affordable.” The Majeskin Nourishing Body Care Line features a soft milk scent while the Calming Body Care Line has a relaxing chamomile scent.

Looking forward to what the brand will bring to the table in the coming months! Majeskin is now available online via the Majeskin Tiktok Shop.

E.l.f. Cosmetics acquires Rhode

Hailey Bieber breaks the internet this week. She got news outlets and influencers alike shouting it from the rooftops, “Hailey Bieber Sells Rhode for $1 Billion!” If you’re a fan of the brand, you don’t have to worry about losing your favorite Rhode products. Hailey Bieber will not be leaving the brand, and continue the work in collaboration with new owner e.l.f. Cosmetics. In a social media post she writes, “I feel invigorated, excited and more ready than ever to step into an even bigger role as Chief Creative Officer, and Head of Innovation of rhode as well as strategic advisor to e.l.f. Beauty.”

The Rhode founder reveals that her focus will shift from working on brand survival to expansion and growth. Here’s to hoping that this means international expansion! I would love to someday report that Rhode would be available in the Philippines.

And that’s it for this week’s roundup of beauty news! Which tidbit excited you the most? See you on the next edition!
