Hello everyone, and welcome to this week’s beauty roundup! We’re serving up some fresh hot drops, new brands to look forward to, HG products getting even better, and some juicy controversies we’d love for you to weigh in on. There’s good news and bad news for the Kar-Jenners, while FENTY Beauty has introduced their first ever brand ambassador. Plus, we’ve got full deets on the makeup collection that will take you on a magic carpet ride. Happy reading!

A whole new world of beauty

Mark your calendars, PV fam, because we’re about to enter Agrabah! The MAC x Aladdin Collection will hit stores on May 22 just as the movie hits the cinemas, and we’ve got the complete product list of every gold-packaged goodie you’re going to want to grab. Inspired by the tough, passionate, and strong Princess Jasmine, the collection includes the Princess Jasmine Eyeshadow x 9 (P3,000), Rose Pigment (P1,450), Technakohl Liner in Black (P1,200), Always One Jump Ahead Powder Blush (P1,900), Your Wish Is My Command Matte Bronzer (P1,900), 3 shades of Lipglass (P1,200), and 4 lipsticks (P1,150) in 3 finishes! There’s Rajah (matte red berry), Whole New World (velvet matte blue pink), Princess Incognito (matte neutral pink rose), and Friend Like Me (amplified neutral beige). BRB, we’ll be looking for a magic lamp to get everything on our wish lists!

Pop! goes my heart

Is another Pinay celebrity is getting into the beauty biz? This photo of Sarah Geronimo with bright colored compact has been popping all over our social media feeds, and it looks like the Pop Princess is set to launch a new beauty brand on the same day as her newest album! There aren’t many details yet on what POP Studio PH is about or how the singer-actress is involved with the brand, but their social media pages tell us to watch out for a big announcement on May 31. The cherry-colored packaging of eyeshadows, lipsticks, and palettes definitely have us intrigued! More updates on this story soon.

A new Jenner-ation

I mean, we knew this was sort of coming our way, didn’t we? With all of her sisters venturing into different industries and businesses, it’s no surprise that Kendall Jenner is stepping up her game and broadening her reach. Since launching her oral healthcare brand Moon, people now think the supermodel might be starting her own cosmetics line, too! According to the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office, Jenner reportedly filed for the trademark of “Kendall” and “Kendall Jenner” for the purpose of a beauty line. With all of her current endorsements and campaigns, we’re not sure how this new brand will play out. Could there be skincare? Makeup? Body care? Guess we’ll just have to wait and see. How do you feel about Kendall possibly starting a beauty line?

That’s harsh!

Uh-oh! Despite all the excited tweets about her upcoming skincare line Kylie Skin, Kylie Jenner is facing some major backlash with one specific product - her Walnut Scrub. According to the beauty mogul, this scrub is gentle enough to use every single day (!) and is perfect for exfoliating the skin. She even went on to say that it is her secret to a fresh face. The internet, however, is not having it. Walnuts are said to damage the skin because of the shells’ sharp edges, which cause skin damage. Several dermatologists have also weighed in on the fiasco, and the majority said that a scrub that rough shouldn’t be used every single day. Kylie has yet to respond to the backlash and violent reactions. Kylie Skin has six products (face wash, toner, serum, moisturizer, eye cream, and facial scrub) and launches on May 22nd. Would you try anything from her line?
