A 5-Minute Makeup Routine With Only Seven Products

How much time does it take for you to do your makeup everyday? As much as we all want at least an hour to primp and prettify (and maybe also nap in between), most days it's just not in the cards. So how do you do your makeup in the quickest amount of time possible? Shortcuts do exist but the true key to light speed but presentable everyday makeup are products that work with little prep time or blending.

First, take away the items you don't really need. If you have fairly good skin, then you probably don't need as much concealer as you think. If your eyes are already pretty defined, then eyeliner could be skipped. Got long, lush lashes? Lucky you - forget the mascara.

Have a signature look. Red lipstick on an almost-bare face is quite stunning. Lush eyebrows, bronzed cheeks, and a peach lip is youthful. A good highlighter on key points of the face and a matching stain on both the lips and cheeks looks super fresh. There are several looks you can try! I think it's important to have more than just a default prettifying look; you should have a signature look, something that ties in with your personal narrative. I love bright lips with strong eyeliner on myself, especially.

Finally, curate your products carefully. When I'm in a rush, high coverage things get the job done faster. If you're working with too-sheer formulas, you spend extra time layering everything. If the coverage is already high then you just need to diffuse a small amount with a few pats, and you're done.

My seven-product, five-minute face: Bobbi Brown Cushion Foundation, Laura Mercier Secret Camouflage Concealer, Shiseido Sheer Mattifying Foundation, Eye of Horus Dual Brow Perfect, Pink Sugar Miss Independent Blush, and the Pink Sugar x Project Vanity Lip Crayon in Ready In Five

Here's how I do my five-minute face! I timed it and I finished in exactly five. However, since I uploaded the video on Instagram, I just had to shorten it to one minute. ^_^ Enjoy!
