This New Foaming Body Wash Tops Our Bath Care Essentials This Summer

Product Photography by Perkin Gohio

The weather’s getting hotter these days, and staying fresh is becoming a bigger priority. But with our busy schedules, we tend to rush through the bathing ritual without giving it much thought. After all, smelling malinis is a must.

But bathing doesn't have to be a joyless practice we take for granted. It can be both therapeutic and fun. So it’s exciting to experience a new iteration of a family favorite, the Safeguard Detox Foaming Body Wash (P449 for 500ml pump bottle, P309 for 400ml refill pack), just in time for the season. And BTW, it's the first ever foaming body wash in the Philippines!

The light, airy formula provides 99.9% germ protection as you indulge in fun foaming showers with triple detox technology. It has particles that are smaller than pores which enables it to deeply cleanse skin and rid it of dirt and excess oil. And the easy-to-rinse instafoam reduces shower water consumption by 30%, according to a laboratory test.

I was able to try all three variants, and I was blown away by how distinct each Safeguard Foaming Body Wash is in terms of scent profile. So here’s my attempt at describing how each one translates. Plus, I’ve included Spotify playlist suggestions to help set the mood:

The Ultimate Unwind

Some days you just need to slow it down and detach from the daily stresses. This is the time to seek things that are comforting and familiar. Think finding a cozy spot to catch up on some reading or loosening up with a yoga sesh. Pure White is the classic, clean Safeguard scent that we grew up with. It’s soothing and somewhat powdery, highlighting the power of simplicity. And let’s be honest, it can also make you a little nostalgic. So if you’re looking to ease your mind, especially around bedtime, look no further.

The Resort Getaway

At this point, who isn’t dreaming of dropping everything and jetting off to a resort vacation? But the next best thing ATM is having an indulgent home spa experience for a well-deserved dose of chill. Imagine pampering yourself with a deep conditioning hair treatment and giving your face some TLC by masking. It’s straight out of a spa resort set-up, and Bamboo Charcoal gives off tropical vibes starting from the bath! The minty, aquatic, and somewhat green scent brings to mind taking a cool dip and lounging by the pool or shoreline, drink in hand. Go ahead and treat yourself as often as you’d like!

The Playful Pick-Me-Up

High-energy and ready to get going! There are times when your enthusiasm just radiates, while there are also moments when a little boost is in order. Reach for Pomegranate for a burst of bold freshness. The sweet fruity-floral embodies summer all year round. It’s the sort of tart, juicy scent that livens up your daily life, daring you to do new and exciting things. Take up a new hobby? Sure! Psyching yourself up for the day ahead? You bet. And it brings a sense of fun, even while you’re staying at home.

Spotify Playlist Pick: Songs to Sing in the Shower

I go into great detail describing these scents, because a single pump of any Safeguard Detox is enough to envelope me in its fragrance. It starts out strong as you spread out the foam into a softer lather either on the hands or on a shower puff. I usually require 2-3 pumps for all over. The instafoam spreads easily and feels moisturizing, similar in sensation to a cream bath rather than the usual body wash. Then post-rinse, the scents tone down and stay close to the skin. Meaning, you can still use your lotion and perfume without the smells conflicting. I have peace of mind that I got a Safeguard Natural Detox deep cleansing, minus any tight, dry feeling on the skin.
