My humidity hack: The Catrice Prime And Fine Waterproof Mattifying Powder

Has the humidity been affecting your makeup? It's less hot these days, but humidity is at an all-time high because of the intermittent rain! It's a bit tricky makeup-wise, hence I've been avoiding anything that will feel sticky or heavy a few hours after application. I go for water-resistant/waterproof products as well as lightweight ones. Constant blotting and retouching are key - if you want your makeup to stay put, you want to wick all the moisture from the surface.

I've recently been testing out the Catrice Prime And Fine Waterproof Mattifying Powder (P499) and I love it. But first, let's get something out of the way: it's not waterproof. I'm not sure if that's even possible, actually! This is however a great powder for setting and retouching your foundation, since it makes skin look so smooth. It also helps my makeup stay a bit longer.

This pressed powder has no coverage or tint. It mattifies without looking flat or pale, and keeps my base makeup intact for an extra two hours if I retouch with it. I love that it comes in a sleek compact with a huge mirror; I just need to bring my travel powder brush to keep my makeup looking flawless.

I use the Prime And Fine either as a setting powder, or as a powder BEFORE my actual setting powder if I want a more bullet-proof base. This extra layer sandwiched between foundation and loose setting powder helps to absorb the extra oil and moisture. This way, I can keep shine away for another extra hour or two.

Overall, I find the Catrice Prime And Fine Waterproof Mattifying Powder to be a great everyday powder that should help everyone manage their face base a little better. It shines in humid weather, I find, and should work for all skin types and tones. It's relatively inexpensive and it looks great on my skin. Will probably buy when I run out!

Does this look like the powder for you?
