Review + Swatches: The fabulous MAC Loves Lisa Collection

Photography by Perkin Gotohio

Global superstar singer and rapper and Blackpink member Lisa has recently collaborated with MAC, launching her first-ever full MAC collection featuring her favorite products. Inspired by what Lisa loves most and with hues designed by Lisa herself, this limited-edition collection is the superstar’s most personal collaboration yet.

As usual, before I talk about the products one by one, let’s discuss the packaging first. Okay, Lisa’s signature ultra-violet sparkle packaging is beautiful - no surprise here because MAC always delivers in this department. Their limited-edition collections are highly covetable, and this is no exception.

From L-R: Louis (frost), Leo (matte), Milk Tea Ice Cream (glitter), Popstarry (glitter), Boots Were Made For Dancin' (shimmer), Candy Rapper (bouncy satin), LC (matte), Aries Kiss (satin), Fire Sign (matte), Lily (bouncy glitter), Swiss Miss (glitter), and Beyond Blonde (satin)

MAC x Lisa Eyeshadow Palette (P3,000+/12 x 1.4g)

This eyeshadow palette is perfection! In fact, it’s my favorite MAC eyeshadow palette to date. In addition to the stunning, versatile colors that take you from day to night, this palette has seven different formulas - matte, frost, satin, glitter, shimmer, bouncy satin, and bouncy glitter. The colors are smooth and easy to blend. Simply put, I have nothing but love for this palette.

Brushstroke 24-Hour Liner (P1,550/0.67g)

The liners in this collection come in two colors - Brushblack and Brushbrown. What I appreciate about this particular liner is how you can get both a thin and thick line depending on how much pressure you apply. You can also layer it on to intensify the color - just give the first layer a bit of time to dry. The liners are budge-proof but they can be easily removed with water.

Extra Dimension Skinfinish in Show Gold (P2,600/9.5g)

Ah, just look at how beautiful this highlighter is! It’s a show-stopping peach-pink color that instantly illuminates the skin. Whether applied in a subtle way or layered on, this highlighter adds opulence and pizzazz - the Lisa way - to your makeup look.

Melba Powder Blush (P1,675/6g)

Melba is the first-ever MAC blush I bought and seeing it in this collection brought back so many memories. Melba is a classic warm-toned, coral blush shade that works on all skin tones and makeup looks. Honestly, if you don’t have it in your collection (and you love Lisa, of course), then you must get this.

Powder Kiss Liquid Lipcolour (P1,550/5ml)

Whipped, mousse-like in texture and soft matte in finish, the Powder Kiss Liquid Lipcolour in this collection has six shades: (from L-R) Fashion, Sweetie (deep burgundy), Haute Pants (cool mid-tone red), Pink Roses (soft pink), Rhythm ’N’ Roses (warm pumpkin), Sorry Not Sorry (dirty pumpkin orange), and Swoon For Blooms (dusty rose), which is my personal favorite. In addition to how comfortable this formula is on the lips, I really like its applicator, especially when dotting the product on my cheeks as blush.

From L-R: Brushstroke 24-Hour Liners in Brushblack and Brushbrown, Extra Dimension Skinfinish in Show Gold, Powder Blush in Melba, Powder Kiss Liquid Lipcolours in Fashion Sweetie, Haute Pants, Pink Roses, Rhythm 'N' Roses, Sorry Not Sorry, and Swoon For Blooms

Overall, another winning collection from MAC and a double win for Lisa stans! What I love about makeup collections that are collaborations is that they are personal and they bring people closer to artists they look up to and idolize. Now, which product are you eyeing the most in this collection? If you say all, I don’t blame you.
