The nude of my dreams: Bobbi Brown Luxe Lip Color in Almost Bare

Nude is probably the least-worn color on my lips. I have a wide, round face and blanked out lips contribute to it looking even wider than it is. That's why the color has always been a tricky proposition for me. It has to look sufficiently bare, but it has to "secretly" have a warm, browny base to provide my lips the necessary contrast.

Sounds difficult to find, hmm? I count myself lucky to come across the Bobbi Brown Luxe Lip Color in Almost Bare (P1,700). The Luxe Lip Color is the brand's latest line of thirty, full coverage colors that are opaque in one swipe. It comes in a gold bullet with a black inner mold and the Bobbi stamp on top. It's the most luxurious lipstick by Bobbi Brown to date - you'll just know as soon as you feel the heavier-than-normal weight and hear the smooth click of the bullet!

The lipstick itself has a wider, flatter tip to make application possible in the promised single swipe. Nude lipsticks as you know tend to be a bit streaky on the first layer but not this one. Almost Bare comes out solid in one go and glides on like buttercream.

It's a bit pinker in person. My lighting and camera settings somehow washed out the pink tones of Almost Bare!

Aside from the presentation, I love the color itself. It's a peachy pink nude with a surprisingly strong brown base. It's not too light, not too dark - the perfect Goldilocks color for my warm medium skin tone! It has a classic creme finish that doesn't feel drying after hours of wear. I can skip lip balm with this, but if you have particularly parched lips you may want to wear something underneath.

Staying power is pretty good. I've worn this for three hours without it fading away. Eating and drinking though, of course, will affect the staying power of the lipstick.

Overall, I highly recommend the Bobbi Brown Luxe Lip Color to anybody who likes rich, silky, and nourishing lipsticks that are opaque. It's also for packaging nuts who like their products looking chic at all times! Try it at your favorite Bobbi Brown counter soon. ^_^

What's your fave nude lipstick?
