Beauty Roundup: Valentine’s Day Drops From Colourpop, Charlotte Tilbury, Pat McGrath, and Kiko Milano

Valentine’s day 2024 is in two weeks. Are we feeling excited, anxious, or meh about it? However you may feel about this Hallmark holiday, new makeup releases for it are coming in hot! I’ve featured a few early releases in my previous BNR’s, but there are so much more new makeup collections that I felt they deserved their own Valentine writeup. Let’s check out a puffy heart-filled collection from Colourpop, a Hollywood glam lineup from Charlotte Tilbury, a jewel-toned, fave-filled curation from Pat McGrath, and an interstellar love affair with Kiko Milano.

Heart-filled cuties from ColourPop Lost in Love Collection

If I were to search “Valentine makeup collection,” ColourPop’s Lost in Love Collection will definitely be one of the first images to pop up. Textbook Vday, full of puffy hearts, and glitter-bombed; and yet so irresistible to me and my inner tween! The collection includes a color-changing Heart Blending Sponge ($8.00), Sparks Glitter Gel for face and body ($10.00), 3 shades of Ultra Glossy Lip ($9.00 each), 3 shades of  Jelly Much Shadow ($9.00 each), 3 shades of Lip and Cheek Balm ($12.00 each), and of course a 12-pan Lost in Love Shadow Palette ($18.00). The whole collection is also available as a set for $110.00.

My hands-down favorite of the collection: the Lip and Cheek Balm in the cute little puffy heart compacts, complete with mirror. This is ColourPop’s first take on this type of formula that combines the benefits of a skin-caring balm and a buildable color product. They come in three shades: Heart’s Content (soft pink), Cutesy Wootsy (bright warm pink), and Adore You (pinky red). I hope they come out with more colors, and become a permanent addition to their collections.

I’m also crushing on the Lost in Love Shadow Palette. It has pinks, corals, and reds in different shades and finishes. I can see it working for different kinds of warm looks, from cutesy to full glam. This will make a great addition to anyone looking for a warm-toned eyeshadow palette.

ColourPop’s Lost in Love Collection is now available on the ColourPop website.

Charlotte’s Hollywood Beauty Icon Lipstick Collection

Turn heads with what Charlotte Tilbury calls “instant star confidence in a tube.” Her new Hollywood Beauty Icon Lipstick Collection dropped on January 23rd. The collection has five new matte red lipstick shades in her signature Matte Revolution formula, five new satin-shine pink lipstick shades in her K.I.S.S.I.N.G. formula, as well as five Lip Cheat lip liners to match the reds and pinks. CT says she has always layered and mixed different lipsticks and liners to create the perfect look for her clients backstage, and this time she is sharing her signature Hollywood colors for everyone to enjoy!  All dressed up in beautiful metallic pink and red casings, too.

The five new pink shades all have the satin-shine finish of CT’s moisturizing, pout-enhancing K.I.S.S.I.N.G.  ($35.00) formula: Icon Baby (warm nude rose), Candy Chic (sweet candy pink), Red Carpet Pink (pastel pink), Rose to Fame (soft mauve-rose), and 90s Pink (warm rose pink). In contrast, all five new red shades are made in CT’s bestselling Matte Revolution ($35.00) formula: Mark of a Kiss (soft, muted red), Fame Flame (chili red), Hollywood Vixen (bright red), Pizzazz (blue-red), and Cinematic Red (cherry red).

CT’s Hollywood Beauty Icons cheat sheet pairs each new lippie shade with recommended Lip Cheat ($25.00) shades: Red Carpet Red (blue-red), 90s Pink (rose pink), Mark of a Kiss (muted red), Icon Baby (warm nude-rose), The Queen (hot pink). Charlotte’s Hollywood Beauty Icon Lip Kit ($57.00) is also available, in which you can choose one Beauty Icon lipstick and add any Lip Cheat liners (including old releases).

Are you #TeamPink or #TeamRed? I’m a solid #TeamBrown, but these gorgeous shades are making me rethink my life choices! They look like they would flatter different skin tones, and would definitely elevate any everyday look. The Hollywood Beauty Icon Lipstick Collection is now available on the Charlotte Tilbury website.

Get your Heart’s Desire from Pat McGrath

Aptly named Heart’s Desire collection, Pat McGrath’s Valentine drops are an all-star lineup of their 2023 bestsellers and new limited edition shades in literally love-ly packaging. The limited edition boxes feature the word LOVE in gilded lettering, with a sapphire-blue rose background. There are two MatteTrance Lipsticks, one Skin Fetish: Sublime Skin Highlighter, and a Daring Desire Eyeshadow Quad.

If anyone knows how to make a beautiful matte lip, it’s PMG. The MatteTrance Lipstick Heart’s Desire Edition (P2,300) comes in two new shades: Honey Haze (peach beige nude) and Nude Nocturne (terracotta rose neutral). Encased in the signature gold and black tube with the lip-shaped lock, the limited edition lipsticks feature an embossed damask pattern. Both are stunningly gorgeous both in packaging and on the lips! I honestly can’t choose which shade I like more. Get both with the Heart’s Desire MatteTrance Duo (P4,100).

The Skin Fetish: Sublime Skin Highlighter (P3,700, 8.5 g) for the collection is a new shade: Nude Opal. Described as a coral champagne in gel-powder formula, it promises a buildable glow. Pat McGrath says, “Bathe in the luminosity of my newest shade, Nude Opal, as each stroke gracefully sculpts, highlights and illuminates your features with an ethereal glow. Allow it to enchant your favorite highlight points, from the cheekbones' regal arcs to the Cupid’s bow. Each application is a caress of multidimensional pearls, casting a soft, celestial sheen.

The Eye Shadow Quad: Daring Desire (P3,300) is a combination of four crowd-favorite shades. We already know it’s gonna be creamy, blendable, and crazy pigmented. Pat says, “After seeing the outpouring of love for these shades, I simply had to create the Eye Shadow Quad: Daring Desire. From the Cupid-inspired luminosity of Galactic Glow to the divine depths of namesake hue, Daring Desire, this quartet is a love letter to creating major looks. Make hearts race as you fuel your fantasies, conjuring tender glances, sultry stares and everything in between!” The colors can also be used dry or wet–I could already see Daring Desire would double as a beautiful eye liner with the right brush.

The Daring Desire Collection is now available on the Pat McGrath website. I’m crossing my fingers, wishing these would come to sephora.ph soon, too.

Kiko Milano’s Stellar Love Collection is out of this world

While looking through Vday releases from beauty brands, one definitely stood out: the Stellar Love Collection from Kiko Milano. No cutesy hearts, blooming flowers, or strawberries to be found: instead, a glittering assemblage of makeup and skin care products robed in dazzling cosmic blue and silver. This Italian drugstore brand is definitely a standout!

These are all available in Europe right now. I’m hoping they will arrive at local Kiko Milano stores, both physical and online. Some of my favorites from the collection: Stellar Love Duo Lip Color & Gloss (14.99 €) available in four delicious shades; and Stellar Love Galactic Duo Blush (16.99 €) a stacked cream and powder blush duo that comes in two shades. I love how these products get you two products in one go, giving you the option to use separately or layer both.

My hands-down favorite of the bunch: the Stellar Love Cosmic Gaze Eyeshadow Palette (20.99 €). There’s something about the compact-shaped palette with a six-point star in the middle that is so satisfying for me. Create a romantic look with Valentine’s Wish, balancing out the neutrals, pinks, and browns with a sparkly gold and a gorgeous wine red. My pick is Under the Starry Sky, which lets you play with an indigo, sparkly lilac, and glittery blue colorway, balanced by a soft pink, champagne, and deep brown.

Honestly, I feel like Kiko Milano is underrated, and deserves more love! Check out Kiko Milano Ph on Instagram and Facebook. They can also be found in select SM Department Stores, or shop online via Lazada, Shopee, or Zalora.

I hope you liked our Valentine’s Day roundup! Whether or not you celebrate this day, I hope you’ll celebrate self-love! I myself am planning to do that with a little retail therapy. ;) Hope you all have a great week!
