Beauty Roundup: ColourPop x Beauty and the Beast, Charlotte Tilbury Fragrances, Drunk Elephant Bora Barrier Repair Cream, and R.E.M. Beauty x Wicked

Welcome to another edition of Beauty News Roundup! This week is all about magical news from the world of beauty. Let’s take a look at ColourPop’s latest release: a collaboration with Disney’s Beauty and the Beast. Charlotte Tilbury creates six mood-transforming fragrances that look like magical alchemy elixirs! Drunk Elephant’s Bora Barrier Repair Cream is now available locally. Last but not least, Ariana Grande hints at a Wicked-inspired holiday collection by her brand R.E.M. Beauty.

Rose-filled Disney x ColourPop collab

On April 15th, 2024, ColourPop teased fans by releasing the photo above with the caption, “Tale as old as time… 🌹” It was a clear nod to the iconic enchanted rose under the glass globe from the animated Disney film “Beauty and the Beast.” The photo features a lip mask with a gorgeous rose-shaped lid.

The collection dropped on the ColourPop website on April 18th. Aside from the rose-flavored Enchanted Rose Lip Mask ($12), there are also two Lux Lipstick & Ultra Glossy Lip Duos ($18), two Pressed Powder Blushes ($14), a Super Shock Highlighter ($15), and a 12-pan Eyeshadow Palette ($22).

Charlotte’s Fragrance Collection of Emotions

With excitement and much anticipation, we watch Charlotte Tilbury’s new adventure unfold: a collection of fragrances called “Collection of Emotions.” Created with International Flavors and Fragrance (IFF), the fragrances are designed to boost emotions. CT proudly calls it “the future of fragrance” that gives “6 invisible superpowers for everyone, everywhere.” According to the beauty expert, the scents were user-trial proven to enhance feelings of love (Love Frequency), happiness (Joyphoria), seduction (More Sex), calm (Calm Bliss), energy (Cosmic Power), and empowerment (Magic Energy).

Collection of Emotions will be available on April 30th exclusively on the Charlotte Tilbury App. It will be available globally starting May 2nd.

Drunk Elephant’s Bora Barrier Repair Cream is now in PH

Drunk Elephant fans, rejoice! Their Bora Barrier Repair Cream is now available locally. This is their reparative moisturizer that “delivers powerful, deep moisture, firming skin and reducing visible redness while returning your skin barrier to a healthy state.” Yes, this provides up to 24 hours of moisture to your skin, and can help repair a damaged skin barrier. Sounds like a must-try for those with sensitive skin!

Tiffany Masterson, founder of Drunk Elephant, says: “Recently, we've been asked for a richer, more reparative moisturizer, and I kept thinking of how skin might feel after a laser treatment or a ski trip or how skin with age-related dryness always feels. Meet Bora Barrier Repair Cream, a heavy hitter for chronically dry skin, a compromised barrier, and mature skin that can't retain moisture on its own. It’s loaded with lipids, minerals, ceramides, and antioxidant compounds, so it delivers deep, absorbable moisture that lasts 24 hours, reducing redness and firming skin while returning it to a healthy, bouncy, and youthful state.”

It can be used on its own, day and night. It is also designed to be blended with other Drunk Elephant serums to make a “skin care smoothie” tailored to your skin’s needs. Bora Barrier Repair Cream (P4,250/ 50mL) is available at Drunk Elephant stalls in SM Megamall, SM Makati, LOOK at Me SM Aura, and LOOK at Me SM Mall of Asia.

A Wicked collab with R.E.M. Beauty?

On April 14th, two-time Grammy winner Ariana Grande made a surprise appearance at the ULTA Beauty Field Leadership Conference in Florida. In a panel interview, she talks about what’s in store for her brand R.E.M. Beauty. She ends up hinting at a holiday collab with “other projects she’s involved in right now.” Fans were quick to speculate she was referring to her upcoming movie Wicked in which she stars as Glinda.

Until we get confirmation, I won’t get my hopes up too high! But it looks like it will be welcomed warmly if the collab does push through. I’m curious as to how they will interpret the movie and the characters as a beauty collection.

And that’s it for this week’s beauty news roundup! I hope you had a magical time. See you next time!
