A lightweight wonder: The Revlon Ultra HD Lipstick

Traveling is the ultimate test of any relationship. If you can't deal with each other for just a few days in an alien place, then how do you expect to go through a challenging situation that might change your life together? Traveling requires problem solving, time and budget management, priority setting, compromise, and a load of patience with each other. If you can your partner can agree on these things then you know you're on the right track.

Anyway, today I'd like to talk about the newest kid in the lipstick scene: the Revlon Ultra HD Lipstick (P575). This promises to be wax free while still providing rich color and a "high definition" finish. Until now I am not exactly sure what HD really means - I feel it's just a fancy term to sell you more makeup - but hey if it looks good, then it looks good. This lipstick definitely does!

The Revlon Ultra HD Lipstick has a satin finish that makes lips look smoother and fuller. It doesn't have wax but it has oils and butters - these moisturize and smoothen lips while ensuring that the product glides on easily. It has a thin, lightweight texture that wraps lips in a glove-like embrace.

The staying power is just average at three hours. It doesn't really set or dry overmuch, so if you eat it is very likely to come off. It tastes and smells sweet by the way! This lipstick line is pleasant to wear and something that I think finicky girls would like.

As for the color payoff, it's opaque in two layers. It does get a bit streaky if you're not careful with application. This is most noticeable in the light colors. Here are my swatches of the shades I have!

Orchid is a cool violet shade that's quite pretty for spring. It surprisingly works with my reddish hair, huh. Tulip is a dainty peach, something that would normally look good on me, but I find that it's not as flattering in conjunction with my new do. (Yes hair color really influences how your makeup would look!)

Gladiolus is a bright tomato red while Snapdragon is a terracotta with hints of wine. My favorite out of this set has to be Snapdragon, since it's very edgy and on-trend. It also works well with my medium skin and hair. ^_^

Overall, I highly recommend the Revlon Ultra HD Lipstick if you like lightweight textures and a rich, hydrating color. Just be prepared to retouch every three hours - again, an average amount of time for lipstick wear, so it's not that much trouble. Check it out in Revlon counters soon!
