Hello from the Project Vanity team! Thanks for dropping by.

Revlon Photoready Kajal Intense Eyeliner + Brightener

Kohl eyeliner makes our eyes more dramatic and intense, but the sad fact is that most of them simply are too creamy to stay in place. That's just the nature of the formula - the creamier, more emollient a product is, the less wear-time you get out of it.

So who wants to wear eyeliner that looks great for only two hours? Not a lot of people, I imagine. But they're still pretty to look at, especially the Revlon Photoready Kajal Intense Eyeliner + Brightener (P525).

The formula is very smooth and creamy, while the finish has a satiny opaqueness to it. Some colors are immediately solid, but I find that the lighter ones need to be layered on to get maximum color pay off. I can live with that.

Purple Reign, Blue Nile, Carbon Celopatra, Emerald Empire

This pencil has coordinating brightening shades for the waterline or on the upper lids if you're into that look. You can also use these white/neutral shades as an eyeshadow ase, since they are creamy enough to spread all over the lids!

You might be wondering - what's up with using a beige/tan eyeliner on the watrline? Makeup artists recommend it for a more natural look. White is an unnatural color in that area; we want to mimic skin if you want to brighten it more effectively. The goal of waterline eyeliner is to cover up the redness, hence the skintone liner!

I do like that the pencils come with caps that look exactly like the color they're covering. Very handy in the vanity.

Blue Nile on my lid and waterline! Very nice eh?

This is Emerald Empire. I LOVE HOW IT LOOKS! It's like a ribbon of color. Sadly this smudges more than Blue Nile.

The only trouble is the fact that these kajal eyeliners do not wear well. They will smear and smudge after two hours! If you're just stepping out for errands or to a party you don't expect to drag on, then these are a good option. But if you commute, attend school or work in an office, then the Revlon Kajal liners won't be up to the task.

Overall, while I find the Revlon Photoready Kajal Intense Eyeliner + Brightener to be convenient and pretty, I would not wear it as often as I would want. :) Let me know what you think too!
