ZA Plumper Lips Lipstick in Rose Vintage

Remember when MTV was the coolest channel on television? If you're about my age, you would have spent and hour or so after school watching the latest music videos. You know, when they only released music videos on TV? Haha. I feel so old just knowing how epic MTV was back then.

One of the most visible brands on MTV then was ZA Cosmetics. They always showed that colorful and cute commercial in between videos, sometime in the late 90s. ZA was pulled out of the country for over a decade, sadly, but now it's back! I believe the stalls started popping up in SM Department Stores and Landmark just last June. The liquid and powder foundation come highly recommended so do check them out when you visit!

The prices are quite affordable, with most of the products checking in at less than a thousand bucks only. ZA is popular for the cosmetics of course but they also have intriguing skincare lines. ZA is actually a Shiseido brand, so you can bet that the company's thorough research is behind every ZA product!

Today I will be reviewing the ZA Plumper Lips Lipstick in Rose Vintage (P425). It's what I got in my loot bag during the ZA event some weeks back, a random choice, but I love it as an everyday pink lipstick! It can work with fair to medium skintones I think, since it's warm enough without being too dark.

Rose Vintage is a mid-coverage brown-based pink lipstick that packs a lot of shine. The shine creates the illusion of plumper lips indeed, although you would have to retouch every two or three hours to maintain the shine and color. The formula is buttery yet not too heavy - moisturizing enough that you won't need to wear lip balm underneath!

Watch out for flakiness if you have dry lips, however. Otherwise this is a nice everyday lipstick that's fairly affordable AND is easily available in many SM Department Stores (see below).

I told you it's pretty! Every girl needs to have a shade like Rose Vintage. It's the kind of color that'll work with pretty much any makeup look you can think of since it's forgiving and flattering. ;) Swatch it some time!

Check out ZA Cosmetics Philippines on Facebook. Plus, here's where you can find ZA so far:

Wow! The color is soo niceee. I think this is much like the revlon lip butters in terms of its sheerness and gloss factor, i think, according to your swatch. I am also intrigued with their powder foundation. I hope you could review that some time. :) Is this shade similar to colour collection lipstick in pinkish nude? I waaant this because of the shade and the price. Thanks for the review, Liz! God bless! =)

I also remember always watching MTV but i can't remember this brand. Maybe i'm too distracted with some other things during that time. Haha. But i'm glad that this is brought back because it is under Shiseido. We are all sold on that already. Thanks to you. Hehe

The color looks very very nice! It makes you look more lively and dolly in a way.

It looks orange in the tube, but I'm pleased to see that it's actually a pretty pink. I don't think I have anything like that in my lipstick stash! It would look great with warm pink blush for a sweet look.

ZA's powder foundation was a staple in my kikay kit 2 years ago when I was still working in Singapore. Glad to know they're back here in the PH. Will definitely purchase it again when I run out of my current foundie. Rose Vintage looks lovely on you. :)

Omg, there was a time when I'd rather stay home and watch MTV than go out. Haha I always learn about new brands from you! Well in this case it's not new but new to me. Gotta check out this brand soon.

Whoa! I'm really glad you reviewed some products from ZA cosmetics miss liz! I've been eyeing them for ages since they established there store here in Abreeza Mall Davao. I'm also intrigued by their foundation but was quite reluctant to buy it.. I'll definitely try their products soon :)

At first I thought the lipstick is orange-y, its more on the pink side pala :) I used to see Za in many drugstore/cosmetics stores in Japan
but never got the chance to swatch any :( I hope they could open up a store in SM megamall soon! :)

A must try for this rainy season. My lips are dry on rainy season and wearing lipstick is a challenge as I get chap lips at the end of the day. I sometimes forget to apply lip balm prior to application of lipstick so why not try this moisturizing lippy from ZA. Thanks for this review Liz.

Awesome color and I like pinks! It's nice that it's not very expensive either, given that it's a Shiseido brand.

Omg. Yes I so remember the MTV days hahaha... I can so much relate. Naku nakamiss na din yung mga days na yun.

The shade looks so pretty on you. I will also check it out and I love your blue eyeliner, is that from etude house?

Stay Pretty as always Liz!

As a certified MTV kid who'd spend every Saturday morning watching the Top 20 countdown, I remember this brand's advertisements with the yellow and blue color theme :) Interesting to know that it's a Shisheido brand!

i can totally relate to you about za commercial and mtv. i was able to buy 1 za product at that time in sm department store but i can't remember now. it's in a blue with white or maybe yellow packaging. since im a fan of backstreet boys, boy zone, spice girls and a lot more ( too shy to share some of them kse feeling ko "baduy" lol) during high school days, i can see the commercial of that chinese or taiwanese girl every single day.

last month i got too see za again in landmark trinomia, i like the new pink color of za and i tried the total hydration amino mineral refreshing gel and the cleanser. i would say that i really like it...and also the price is affordable and i got to admit that i bought it because it reminds me of mtv days
