Pond's BB Cream

Pond's joined the BB cream bandwagon rather late, but they believe they came out with something that's totally worth the wait. True enough, the Pond's Flawless White and Age Miracle BB Creams (P399) did not disappoint. It's fairly good considering how much it costs.

I'm pleasantly surprised by how nice the texture of this Pond's product is! It's water-based and therefore non-greasy, and it does help brighten and even out the complexion instantly. It's easy to apply and it also dries in a few minutes. You won't even need a setting powder if you're not particularly oily, but if you want to extend the wear time then you must set it with foundation or at least a face powder.

By itself, this BB cream lasts for about 3 hours before it starts to fade. I don't like to think of it as foundation - it's really more of a skincare/ makeup base, the way BB creams were originally supposed to be.

There is only one shade available when Pond's launched this (Light) but I think they planned to come out with another one. (I'll need to check!) Light is ok with my skintone since it only has sheer coverage. I use a small amount - one tiny squeeze is enough for the whole face. More than that and it goes on too light. I wish Pond's would come out with a darker-mid yellow color soon!

Light is a beige shade, with a minor grayish cast. I think it would match fair to light-medium skintones best.

Flawless White on the left, Age Miracle on the right

Slightly blended. Matte finish.

And now for the downside: I broke out after only one use. :/ Granted I went to yoga afterwards and forgot to rinse it off, so that one pimple was just raring to happen! If you don't react with Pond's Flawless White and Age Miracle lines, then I think the BB cream version would be kind to your skin as well.

There's not much different between the Flawless White and Age Miracle BB creams in terms of texture, shade, and finish. They feel pretty much the same, but I reckon the active ingredients are different. If you're under 30 then Flawless White would be ideal for you; if you're over 30, then Age Miracle it is!

Overall, I recommend the Pond's BB Cream to girls who want an inexpensive makeup base with SPF, and who do not react to Pond's products. :) Otherwise, there are other BB cream options out there.

So, does this look like a BB cream for you? What's your current BB cream btw?

Thanks for the review Ms Liz! I used to like Pond's but after a while, it didn't sit well with my skin so I switched to another cream. I want to try this product but I'm still reading reviews. Sayang naman if hindi pala compatible with me tapos nabili ko na. Based on your post, I think this is a safe bet for me.

i've been reading good reviews on this but thanks to your review as i have a dark skin tone and this might not really work for me. My skin reacts to Pond's products as well :( Sayang i think some of their products are really good pa naman *sigh*

I have never had an affair with BB creams mainly cause I find them 1) difficult w shade match, since Im darker than most Pinays, 2) difficult to blend , 3) tendency to cake ( prob bec of the difficulty in blending and tendency to pile it on ) 4) haven't really exhausted all efforts in finding a good one 5) lost interest because of the many "fails" . I have wondered if its better to bet on a tinted moisturizer than a BB cream? I have used the age miracle line so I believe this may be worth trying out, if they come up with duskier shades.

I break out with Ponds products too, that's why I shifted out of using them. I was an avid Ponds user when I was younger. Maybe there's something about maturing skin that reacts to them? I'm not so sure.

I'm thinking of buying one for my mom, she's fairer than me and I think this would be a perfect fit for her, thank you for sharing :). I'm sticking with my Lioele waterdrop bb cream for now since it's one of the few BB creams which didn't give me breakouts hihihi. Btw, I love your blog! ♥

I tend to veer away from the Ponds section, since it's really not compatible with my skin. I've either suffered from breakouts, whiteheads, or redness whenever I use their products :/ Anyway, on days when I'm too lazy to put on a full face, I reach for my Nature Republic BB cream :) they've come out with a cheaper line (only 500php a tube, last I checked) which I think is a steal, since my skin didn't react to it, and it stays budge proof for at least 3 hours even under intense heat and humidity. A pea-sized amount would be enough to cover my face and neck, too! :D

Maybelline clear smoothaa cream with spf 50 is also good. It's nice to use as a base. But anyways, i'll try pond's BB cream. :)

Almost every Pond's product that I've tried gave me allergies, which is pretty sad because some of their stuff looks really good. But there's always that 50/50 chance that my skin will go berserk again, so I'd rather not take that risk.

On the other hand, I love Maybelline's BB cream products. I've been using the Clear Smooth BB Stick for some time now, and I really like how it's handy and easy to apply, and it lasts despite the unforgiving heat and humidity. However, it does emphasize dryness a little, and since my skin's been dry lately, I use the Clear Smooth BB White, which is like their regular BB cream except it has whitening properties and higher SPF. Besides the limited shade selection, I think these are really good products, and they're affordable at under P300 each! :)

Looks like Pond's just joined the BB cream madness. I can't remember when was the last time I've tried a Pond's product, but I'm quite intrigued by their new BB creams.

Current BB creams: Lioele Beyond the Solution BB Cream (really great coverage! Lasts for 8 hours if set with foundation), Maybelline Dream Fresh BB Cream SPF 30 (sent by my mom from the US), and the ultimate lifesaver: Garnier BB Eye Roll-On. I used to use Pond's products but then I noticed that either my skin changed or their formula did, and it no longer worked for me. I miss the old Pond's oil control facial wash that comes in gel form with beads.

I am 52 y/o. Thats why i opted for the age miracle. And i really like the result. Nobody believes my age. They thought i am just in my early 40's.

Only the facial wash from ponds works for me, the rest doesnt seem to be compatible to mys skin or I don't see any effects on me.i still prefer the korean BB creams in terms of coverage and consistency but this is a good pricepoint for anyone who is curious about BB cream and doesnt want to splurge at first try.

May 14, 2013 | Unregistered Commentercouchpotato_md

still haven't found a BB cream that works for me. Don't really know why, but something about BB creams just doesn't want to work with my face. It's either it stings, feels itchy or gives me break outs. so I gave up. Just sticking with my fave powder foundie and that's it.

Has anyone here, actually seen a difference on their face by using BB creams?

May 15, 2013 | Unregistered CommenterHollie

I'm in a love and hate relationship with BB creams. I'm using separate moisturizer and sunscreen and powder foundation... I like layering kasi ang saya lang... mas kampante ako na naabsorb ng face ko lahat instead of 1 multi purpose cream like BB.

BUT... i love the fact that BB blends so easily and feels like a second skin. So thanks for sharing. I might reconsider. :)

Skipping this one, I break out from every single Pond's product I try. I'm currently using Etude House Precious MInerals bb cream. It works well with my skin, though I have to blot after a couple of hours.

Oh, Im sorry to hear that you had a break out after one use. As for me, I've been a loyal Pond's user since highschool. I think I'm hiyang with all their products thats why I stick with the brand, but i cannot say that it's the best. But if you are the type that doesnt easily break out with Pond's, it could be for you too.

May 22, 2013 | Unregistered CommenterDane Salazar

I do love Pond's products especially the Charcoal Scrub and the Flawless White cream but I whenever I attempt to use an item, my skin undergoes an "adjustment period" wherein I will break out for a week or so. :( I'm always wondering if it's the worth the risk or not. Teehee. Perhaps the only Pond's product that I'm "hiyang" to is the cold cream which is always the highlight of my makeup removal. Thank you for sharing your thoughts about this BB Cream! It really stirs my interest not only because of its inexpensive price but also for its instantly brightening property. :)
