Manicure Mondays: OPI Fit to Be Tied in Russian Navy and Polka.com

Welcome to a new series here at Project Vanity - Manicure Mondays! I've been meaning to post weekly nail polish swatches but can't find the right way to do it, so I took inspiration from Jen of Frmheadtotoe.com. I'll be posting NOTDs every Monday if I have something interesting on!

Today I'd like to feature a Holiday 2013 set from OPI called Fit To Be Tied. This set contains two complementing nail polishes plus a bracelet and two hair ties. Cute! It's a great gift for your manicure-loving friends. ^_^ Or, you know, you can keep them to yourself because you're MFEO.

The gift sets come in two other variants (more on that later). What I have here is the Russian Navy & Polka.com. Check out the swatches!

Russian Navy

Russian Navy isn't very navy at all. It looks like a darkned blue-purple to me, with the slightest hint of deep shimmer. In some lighting it looks more purple than blue (like above, indoor light) and in broad daylight it looks navy blue. Well. In any case, Russian Navy looks pretty fly.

Polka.com

Polka.com is a sparkle polish with big hexagonal glitters and smaller ones for extra dimension. The teal, dark blue, and pink glitters are suspended in a clear gel. You can definitely layer them since the gel dries almost flat.

I used only one layer here on top of Russian Navy. In hindsight, I should've done more layers! I hope you get the idea though.

I love that unlike other glitter polishes, this one from OPI doesn't peel off too quickly.

OPI Nail Polishes in my experience have great longevity (doesn't chip for two to three days) and color pay off. I wish they dry faster but it's nothing a fast-drying top coat can't solve. ;) Here are the two other sets of Fit To Be Tied:

The Thrill of Brazil  & Black Cherry Chutney

It's Frosty Outside & Emotions

Which combination floats your boat? I like what I have the most since, you know, purple fiend here! And I do so love glitter nail polish. It's more interesting to look at, although of course it's not really appropriate to wear all the time to everywhere (i.e., the office).

You can purcase OPI Nail Polishes from Rustan's. An individual nail polish is P645. Will update you about the price of this set!
