Bench x BDO MasterCard: a lifestyle partner for the picky shopper
Friday, January 18, 2013 at 9:54PM I've had my Bench MasterCard Credit Card for half a year now and it's been great so far. It's my primary card, so I use it to shop for groceries and random luxuries. It's also extremely useful for buying online - not just fashion and beauty items, but apps and website hosting too. I don't know why I held off getting a credit card for so long!

So yes, the Bench MasterCard is not just for Bench purchases. It's actually a credit card accepted in different stores nationwide, so you can use it practically anywhere - whether you're in the Philippines or abroad. BDO's partnership with Bench simply means that you get special perks and double the points when shopping at Bench/ Suyen brands.

Examples are Charles & Keith, Aldo, Repetto, La Senza, Cotton On and The Face Shop! If you're a discriminating shopper with an eye for style and quality, then you most probably shop from a few if not all of these brands. :) As with all high quality brands, the products are not particularly cheap so it's easier to rake the points in. For every P200 you get 2 credit card points for Bench/Suyen purchases*. All other purchases outside of Bench/Partner Stores are P200 = P1 credit card point.

I love Charles & Keith heels!
With this, a cash coupon is automatically generated along with the Statement of Account upon reaching 100 credit card points. This coupon can be used to pay for purchases made in any Bench/Partner Stores like the ones I mentioned above.
Aside from the rewards system, the Bench MasterCard also has these cool perks:
- 0% installment options at 3 and 6 months term**
- Priority Access and Discounts during Sale Events
- Special Invitations to Exclusive events and Bench shows
- Exclusive discount on Birthday week (10% off at any Bench/Partner store nationwide on the Cardholders' birth week)
- Worldwide Acceptance (MasterCard brand)
- Exclusive Discounts or Freebies from Partner merchants
- Payment Convenience (BDO branches, ATM, SM Bills Payment Counters)
- 24-hour Customer Service
There's also an ongoing promo for new Cardholders until February 28, 2013:
Spend in Bench/Partner stores and enjoy a P500 discount in any Bench/Partner Store nationwide upon purchase of P3,000 either single transaction or accumulated spend*** using a newly approved Bench MasterCard; and/or
Spend anywhere and get a FREE bench/OJ Denim Jeans (upon spend of P5,000 anywhere) either single or accumulated spend*** using a newly approved Bench MasterCard.
So there you go. :) Click this link and check out how to get your very own Bench MasterCard. Happy shopping!!!
*Only purchases made at affiliated Bench/Partner Stores and swiped using a BDO terminal will earn double rewards points.
** PCX & First Aid stores nationwide are not included.
*** minimum of P1,000 per charge slip
This post is brought to you by BDO.

Woe killer heels! I love bench theyre good . People tell me its nice to have a card pero ang motto ko- if i nid to borrow money or use a card to buy something, i probably dont need it
mas napatingin ako sa shoes rather than the infos. he-he!
I think I will hold off getting a credit card as long as I can; I may not be able to control myself from shopping thus the hesitation. I've heard dreadful stories about people who used and abused their credit limits to the point where they have to work abroad just to pay for their credit card debts! I know how accessible it is especially if you frequent abroad but it's a no for me, not yet.
Having a credit card means one must have a great deal of self control. Though having one is convenient and useful since you don't have to bring money! All you have to do is swipe the card and it's done. I think that if you know that your prone to giving into temptations but still want to have a credit card, the credit limit should be limited so that unnecessary spending will be avoided.
My best friend and I were just talking about credit cards last week. This post is uncannily timely. I will inform her about the promo you mentioned. Or better yet, I will give her the link to your blog.
I agree with Nina; owning a credit card can make or break a person's financial status. Financial responsibility keeps you from getting yourself buried in debt and consequently, worries and stress.
OMG those shoes!! <3
I've had my BDO card for a little more than a year now and I've held off on switching from my classic Mastercard to a Bench or Forever21 card simply because I don't trust myself enough. Those double points and other perks would definitely make me want to spend more than I normally would. I hope you have better self control than I do Ms. Liz! :)
The heels are to die for!
I admire the foresight of these ladies! I had to personally learn this the hard way e. I had my first credit card fresh from college and I blew off the credit limit within months. My mom didn't even know about credit cards (old school and takot sa utang) so imagine when she found out how much I owed! Shock of a lifetime and sermons galore but she bailed me out in the end. As in the whole amount! After that, I decided I won't get CC anymore! Not until, I've had some self-discipline and control. Minsan kase you'd really be taken in by the perks and the convenience but it's important to weigh things -- when and how to use your CC in the most effective and beneficial manner, and read the fine prints. I say to the ladies, very smart decision to hold off on the card for as long as you can, and if you decide to get yourself one, be responsible and be wise! THIS IS VERY TEMPTING THOUGH!:-)
i couldnt resist in your heels and now clicking the link for my application!yahoo,..
Charles & Keith shoes are lovely. I'm still in college and I am scared to get a credit card. Though it may seem convienient. It's also hard to watch how you spend and thus, you'll be needing a lot of discipline with it. My parents have a lot of credit cards and with those comes debts that they are having a hard time to pay. Maybe in the future, with a stable career, I can enjoy the perks of having a credit card.
hi there. thanks for your informative blog. i received a letter from bdo that i can get a: "BDO Shop More, Bench and Forever 21 MasterCard Credit Cards" and that I need to pay only one annual membership fee.
I would like to ask, which credit card is better from the 3. I never had a credit card before so I do not know how to use one yet.
Thanks :)
You don't need to get only one credit card. It's a credit card bundle. Imagine you can have 3 for 1 membership only! But I like the perks of the shop more card better. But do get all 3! I have mine right now and I'm uberly enjoying them! :)
