Human Heart Nature Tinted Lip Balm in Flame Tree

Remember my review of the Human Heart Nature Lip Balm in Peppermint? I mentioned that I didn't like how hard and waxy it was. It seems that HHN listened with their new Tinted Lip Balm (P75)! It glides on more easily and feels slightly less waxy, so yay for that. I also like the shade of Flame Tree since it's very rich - not far from legitimately being a sheer lipstick.

Texture and feel. The HHN Tinted Lip Balm in Flame Three is more emollient and easy to apply compared to its plain lip balm cousin. It still has that waxy feel (that I hope it would lose someday) but it's more bearable now.

Moisturizing properties. Helps moisturize with its essential oils. I like that it takes some time before it dries up.

Packaging. I like the packaging. The product is housed in a basic tube, but the color combination down to the fonts used in the semi-matte label is nicely done.

Shade selection. I love Flame Tree! It's a rich reddish shade that can pass for sheer lipstick. It's very pigmented. These tinted balms also comes in two other shades: Island Kiss (coral) and Pink Orchid (well, pink). I do believe all three are worth collecting!

Flame Tree

Verdict. I like it a lot. I'll be keeping this within reach for lazy days when I just want a basic, fuss-free, and moisturizing color on my lips! I just wish that someday, HHN would make their balms thinner and less waxy for maximum comfort. Konti na lang and it's perfect already!

Sayang I just bought the plain lip balm a couple of weeks ago! Kung alam ko lang, nag-tinted lip balm na ako. Oh well. Nice review on this one. Pag naubos ko na yung lip balm ko, I think I will try this. :)

@emhy i like lip ice's texture better because it's thin and lets lips breathe, but it's only available in one shade, so. HHN has nice shades!

@ann it's still makapal and waxy ha, but less than the plain one!

@clair oh do! you'll enjoy it :D

nice review. which is better tony moly or human nature?

October 19, 2011 | Unregistered Commenterjhoanne

hi jhoanne! again, depends on what your preferences are. ;P texture and packaging-wise Tony Moly is better, but HHN's tinted balms are organic and has nice shades to choose from.

I have this! My mom got this for me and I love it. I did not like their old variants as well. It was (ironically) drying. But I gave this a try anyway. Very happy with flame tree. It's my default lip balm. Tama ka, perfect for lazy days. haha

Hope you can post swatches of pink orchid and island kiss too. :) Thanks!

I feel like I just have to put this out there... I actually like this better than Lip Ice! hahaha I thought nothing along its price range will ever beat Lip Ice but I really think this is better for me. Lip Ice is nice (haha rhyme!) because it makes your lips feel smooth and maybe even sorta slippery but----

This HHN tinted lip balm moisturizes like nobody's business! You can practically feel it seep through your lips, making it super soft and super kissable. (ahaha.) I like how it actually softens your lips whereas with Lip Ice sometimes my lips flake out in the middle of the day. (ionno my lips have always been weird *sadface*)

I got Island Kiss btw because the Beauty Bar in Podium didn't have Flame Tree. You can barely notice any color on pigmented lips like mine but it's okay. I'm more of a tinted lip balm girl anyway. :D

I now have one in Island Kiss! I like it a lot. You're right about it being less waxy. Finally!

I love the Pink Orchid more than the other two shades. :D Flame Tree is so your color though. :D and i too am so pleased they improved the lip balm formulation. hope they improve the lipsticks!
