We need to talk about Shiseido's latest: The Synchro Skin Radiant Lifting Foundation + Clear Sunscreen Stick

Shiseido has been busy lately, what with new releases that I think you’ll love for your skin. Today I’ll be reviewing the new Shiseido Synchro Skin Radiant Lifting Foundation and the Clear Suncare Stick!

My skin hasn’t been in the best state in the past year, so I still like wearing a bit of liquid foundation underneath even when I have a mask on. In fact, I find that it also helps my makeup survive a little longer. But not all liquid foundations are created equal in this use case. Some, like the Shiseido Synchro Skin Radiant Lifting Foundation (P3,000 /30ml in Lazada) may rule them all.

I use the shade Bamboo, which is a near perfect match for my medium warm skin. This has medium to full coverage with a satin-matte finish. The immediate result is that it makes skin look so fresh! It’s marketed for aging skin, and since that’s exactly what my skin is, I appreciate the “lifting” effect due to the clever use of pigments. It looks like a filter! I mean, just check out the photos of it when freshly applied.

Now at first I thought it wouldn’t survive long in this heat because of its hydrating feel, but actually it’s the kind of foundation that sets and stretches with your skin as you wear it. This is especially nice if you have skin on the drier side. And look - my “after” photo is of me after nine straight hours of wearing a mask and no retouch. It’s not in the best state with some parts creasing BUT again I didn’t retouch with powder or even tissue. It still looks presentable! I just set it with translucent powder.

Overall, love this stuff. The Shiseido Synchro Skin Radiant Lifting Foundation comes in 12 shades that goes fairly deep so you’re likely to find something that matches. Try it if you’re looking for a darn good liquid foundation!

I also have here the Shiseido Clear Suncare Stick SPF50 PA++++ (P2,100 /20g in Shiseido stores). I haven’t met a sunscreen stick I liked before - they were always so sticky and straight up uncomfortable. But not this one! This is a chemical stick sunscreen that glides on like butter and can feel a bit oily a first, but settles down to feel like a normal primer. There is still some stickiness but it doesn’t bother me.

I like that my makeup goes smoothly on top of it. This is a clear sunscreen, so there is zero white cast.

The thing about this sunscreen is that it’s water-resistant, so you can definitely take this to the beach or a sweaty day out. However, this must be cleansed with micellar water or an oil wash to fully remove it from the face and keep it from blocking our pores.

It has a fresh, almost citrusy scent to it which I enjoy.

Overall, it’s a useful product to have on hand if going out of town, or if you just want to a sunscreen that also acts like primer. It’s a bit pricey for a sunscreen but if you have the budget for it, I think you will like it. Let me know your thoughts below!
