Why Shiseido's 150th limited edition releases will wow fans of the brand

Shiseido will always have a special place in my heart. It’s because of the brand that I fell in love with beauty history and with traveling. In 2013, I flew out of the country for the first time to visit Shiseido’s headquarters and flagship store in Ginza, as well as their museum and factory in Kakegawa. It was an amazing experience - one for the books! I’ve been to Japan 11 more times since then. That’s how life-changing it was for me.

So, I was honored to be part of Shiseido’s recent 150th anniversary dinner party (check out my TikTok about it here!) and quite excited to see what they’ve unveiled to celebrate this occasion. What does a 150-year old beauty brand, one of the oldest in the world, do next? Something future forward, of course!

Shiseido launched three limited-edition products to mark its 150th anniversary. The three limited-edition products individually symbolize “Heritage,” “Living Innovation,” and “Future,” to signify the brand’s past, present, and future. Their designs use an arabesque motif featured on wrapping paper created in the Taisho era (1912–1926) by Sue Yabe, a member of the design department at that time. Using 3D software, that original design was turned into a three-dimensional form, then photographed from a variety of angles and used to decorate the containers and outer cartons. The designs express the dynamism of life that opens up a new future while harnessing the assets of the past bearing 150 years of history.

To symbolize “Heritage”, they introduced the latest formulation of the Shiseido Eudermine Revitalizing Essence (P2,800 / 100ml). Eudermine was launched in 1897, the very first beauty product of Shiseido! It’s a lotion essence-type skincare product, to boost hydration. It comes in this beautiful bottle that looks like a magic potion. I suppose that’s true - it’s good for your skin!

For “Living Innovation” (present) they have their best-selling product, the ULTIMUNE Power Infusing Concentrate (P7,300 / 75ml). It comes in limited edition packaging as well! This is my HG serum. I rediscovered it during the pandemic and my skin just loves it. I use it every single day! It makes my skin look bright, clear, and well-rested. I’m already on my third or fourth bottle since 2020 I think.

For “Future”, Shiseido has a new product: the ULTIMUNE Future Power Shot (P4,250 / 15ml). I’m sure fans of the ULTIMUNE will go gaga over this as it promises 15x more potency than ULTIMUNE! You only need 2-3 drops once a week of this oil-based concentrated serum to get that Shiseido glow. I’ve tried it once since it’s meant to be used weekly only, and the next day my skin felt bouncier, more supple. It’s definitely stronger than Ultimune.

If you’re a fan of Shiseido like me, I hope you don’t miss their limited 150th anniversary offerings. Give Power Shot a try too if your fave serum is ULTIMUNE!

You can find Shiseido in their Lazada Flagship Store and mall counters nationwide.
