Trying out Pili Ani’s latest and best: why this Filipino skincare brand is fast becoming a favorite

Pili Ani, a proudly Filipino brand, has been around for a few years now. What sets them apart is their special blend of pili nut and elemi oil which they infuse in their products. Let’s take a look at some of their releases!

First up is a relaunch - the Pili Ani Moisturizing Mint Pili Lip Butter (P450) and the Pili Ani Moisturizing Tinted Pili Lip Butter (P550). These are made with their proprietary botanical oil blend, promising smoother and more moisturized lips in three days*. The packaging comes in their signature Pili Ani green with the tinted ones having a clear cap top to give a peek of the shade.

The Mint Lip Butter comes in a white cap top and doesn't have a color. It is described as a "woke up like this" shade. Unfortunately for me, my lips are quite sensitive to mint so I have to pass up on this one.

The Tinted Lip Butter on the other hand, does not contain mint (yay!) and comes in four shades: Berry, Choclat, Barely There, and Barely Red. The Lip Butter I have provides good color payoff not only on the lips, but also on the cheeks as blush. The Choclat shade with me is described as "Sun-kissed at the beach" and while it does have some brown, the red shows up more on my skin tone. You can get it individually or in a complete set of the tinted variants.

Pili Ani also released the Lip & Face Set (P900). Each set includes the Mint Pili Lip Butter, a Tinted Pili Lip Butter of your choice, and 3 ml travel mini bottles of the Pili Ani Ageless Concentrate and the Pili Ani Self-care Night Recovery Oil. This set is great value for money as you get to try the brand’s best-selling oils aside from the P100 discount. If used daily for day and night, the 3ml bottles are good for 30 days since 2-3 drops is enough for the face, neck, and chest area.

The Pili Ani Ageless Concentrate uses their star ingredients Pili Oil and Elemi Oil for age care, moisturizing, and firming benefits. This product can be added to your morning and night time skincare routine before applying moisturizer. I have tried this before and I find that I can use this even without a follow-up moisturizer. Though for days when my skin is extra dry, moisturizer seals in the hydrating oil quite nicely. This also works well with a good facial massage routine as it feels lightweight yet slippery. I keep my bottle near the TV at night for those K-drama sessions.

The Pili Ani Self-care Night Recovery Oil was only released last year. It's meant to be used at night as the last step in your routine, for additional hydration and preventing moisture loss. However, they also suggest that this can also be used "as primer for dewy skin all day". This is fast becoming a favorite, in fact, I think I prefer this more than the Ageless Concentrate. I like the smell more too since the addition of lavender and other oils give a calming, spa-like scent that I truly enjoy. It is thicker too and I find that it absorbs quicker as well.
