A Drugstore Daily Driver: The L'Oreal Infallible 24H Fresh Wear Foundation Review

This story is brought to you by L’Oreal.

I love full coverage foundation, but that’s not what I actually wear every single day. I’d go for it if I need to look flawless for an event or a shoot, but if I’m just stepping out for a casual day or some light meetings, I prefer to use a base that’s more comfortable and fresh-looking. That’s why I found the L’Oreal Infallible 24H Fresh Wear Foundation (P650 or P553 if you use the code LOREALR15B in Lazada until August 31) interesting: it combines the famous Infallible long-wear technology with a skin-like, light-weight base.

Here’s a rundown of how the foundation performed for me!

What I love about the product

  • The coverage is light but buildable to medium. It covers light blemishes and discoloration - if you have even skin, this is more than enough. If you have deeper blemishes, you can go ahead and conceal with the Infallible Concealer, which is my current HG concealer.

  • It has a light, runny texture that’s easy to blend with just fingers. It’s also quite easy to use with a sponge or a brush, depending on how you want the coverage to be! Go with a sponge for a more diffused, natural glow, a brush if you need more coverage. It blends on skin with minimal effort.

  • The staying power is pretty good. I’ve worn it up to nine hours and it only started to fade by hour seven. I did get oily by hour three, but it was easy to blot and retouch with powder. I love that the foundation moves with skin and doesn’t sink into pores and lines.

  • Even after wearing it all day, the foundation never felt like a thick pasty mask on my face. It still felt light and not sticky.

  • Affordable! At P650 a bottle, you get the feel and finish of a high-end foundation for a drugstore price.

What I don’t like about the product

  • Locally, this comes in eight shades from light to medium deep (morena). My shade is Golden Beige, a good one for medium yellow skin tones. But this oxidizes at least one shade darker on me. Make sure to apply your chosen shade on your face to see how it will change over an hour or two. Get one shade lighter or darker, if so!

  • This is for those with dry to combination skin. If you have super oily skin, you might want to go for the original Infallible formula, which I hear is bulletproof. I also wear the Infallible Concealer as foundation and that one I wear for up to 12 hours with no problems.

  • The packaging has a pump to dispense the ideal amount of product. It can get quite messy especially when the cap hits the pump, so you need to wipe the bottle after every use. Or just be careful I guess.

Verdict and Recommendations

If you’re looking for a high-performing daily driver foundation that’s affordable + easily available locally, you can’t do better than the L’Oreal Infallible 24H Fresh Wear Foundation. It hits all the right notes for me! Just make sure to be meticulous about getting a good shade match and you’ll be on your way to fresh-looking skin every day.

If you’ve tried this, I want to know what you think of it! Looking forward to see your thoughts in the comments.
