Swatches + FOTD: The Laneige x Lucky Chouette Collection

Laneige is at it again with a cute collection in collaboration with a rising fashion brand. Lucky Chouette, based in Seoul, is known for its smart casual street chic concept, graphic elements, and fun-loving style. With Laneige's clean aesthetic, they've come up with limited edition packaging and new colors to collect!

Let's start with the Laneige Serum Drop Tint (P1,150). This is a balmy liquid lipstick with a glossy finish, and comes in nine bright shades that are quite trendy in South Korea. Each color leaves a nice stain and provides the lips moisture without needing a lip balm. However, they're not opaque; the colors have this translucency that is more pronounced at the edges of the lips.

It bothered me at first, but I realize that it's "the look". Koreans do like their barely stained lips in bright reds, pinks, and oranges, so it's not surprising that the Serum Drop Tint line delivers in that department! I love wearing this when I want to take a break from the solid matte lipsticks currently popular here in the PH. These shades do brighten my skin and, I feel, make me look younger!

Staying power is average at three hours, but the stain lasts for about five hours. The lippies have this pointed applicator that makes it easy to focus on the center of the lips, sheering out to the edges. The color can be layered to look more solid so just work the formula in until you're satisfied with the opacity! I'm ok with just one layer, but I go for two if I want a brighter, fuller lip.

And here are the shades! These nine colors are variations of red, orange, and pink as you can see in the comparison swatch. Here are my quick color notes:

Misty Rose is a warm, tomato red. Bite Me is a deep, blue-toned red - it's the most opaque of them all! Marilyn Red is quite similar to Bite Me, but with less opacity. Urban Coral is a pinkish coral. Coral Breath, on the other hand, is more orangey coral. Sassy Girl I'd say is a neon red stain. Quite interesting if you ask me! Runway Pink is a cool midtone pink while Cheeky Cherry is a brighter Pink. Finally, Funky Dream is a sheer lilac pink that has a milky effect.

My top three would have to be Bite Me, Urban Coral, and Cheeky Cherry. ^_^  They have the most consistent formula and goes on pigmented without the need for layering.

Overall, I really like the Laneige Serum Drop Tint for my everyday lip. It's easy to wear, colors are pretty, and the packaging is just too cute! I wore these while I was in Tokyo a couple of weeks ago and my lips did not die in the 5 degree weather so there's that. Try it too if you're looking for this kind of formula!

The Laneige x Lucky Chouette collection also features the BB Cushion Whitening and the BB Cushion Pore Control (each P1,950 with a refill). I hear they are available only in two shades though (13 Ivory and 21 Beige) so if you're medium like me, you might not find these attractive. If you love the case though, you can always pop a darker shade into it!

21 Beige actually works on my skintone currently since I'm a bit fairer than usual, so I'll probably finish it up. I'll get a darker shade once it's used since the owl case is gorgeous!

I find the Laneige BB Cushions in general perfect for our weather since it can withstand average oil and sweat (about five to six hours on my combi skin). It fades a bit, but when set with a good powder foundation and retouched throughout the day, it can last up to 8-10 hours.

I love the glowy finish of Laneige's cushions. It's not obnoxious like other cushions I've tried, and its coverage is just enough to even out my skin tone without looking too much like foundation. Here's what it looks like! I'm wearing the Pore Control cushion here:

Finally, there's also the new Laneige Lucky Chouette Multi Face Palette (P1,450). It's a peachy highlighter that's quite pretty on the high points of the face. I wore it in the FOTD above! It can also be used as eyeshadow - maybe as lid wash - if you wish.

I like the subtlety of the shimmer, but I wouldn't say this is a must-have. I think you can get better highlighters for the price!

Overall, I recommend the Laneige x Lucky Chouette Collection to girls who adore the Korean look and the cute owl packaging. I'd suggest you pick a shade or two of the Serum Drop Tint! If you're a fan of their cushions, better not miss the limited edition design. Thoughts?

The Laneige X Lucky Chouette collection is available at all Laneige stores: Trinoma, SM Mall of Asia, Robinsons Manila, Robinsons Galleria, Robinsons Magnolia, SM Aura Premier and SM Megamall.
