Happy Skin Make A Clean Sweep Micellar Makeup Cleanser

Removing your makeup is just as vital to your skincare routine as the products you put on your face. Taking all that gunk off properly ensures that your pores won't get clogged by cosmetics, oil, and dead skin, among other things! It also means that your skincare products will be absorbed properly instead of just sitting on top doing absolutely nothing.

Now if you ask me, oily and cream-type makeup removers for the whole face are out of date. I've tried most of them but they simply don't work as well as micellar water. Micella-what again? This type of formula contains micelle molecules suspended in water, which trap dirt and oil as you sweep it on your face. The latest one to come out in the Philippines is the Happy Skin Make A Clean Sweep Micellar Makeup Cleanser (P599)!

This is pretty good, as are all things from Happy Skin.  It feels exactly like water - there is no oily or drying feel! I use about 2-3 cotton pads with one pump each to remove a full face of heavy makeup - yes, including water-resistant mascara. This can remove even heavy foundations, primed eyeshadow, and waterproof eyeliner. It draws the line at waterproof mascara (as with all micellar water), and for that I recommend using something oil-based instead.

Happy Skin claims that you don't need to wash this off afterwards as it will leave your face completely clean and hydrated. I agree, if you cleanse with it thoroughly and if you're just really too lazy to wash your face, tone, then moisturize. It's a great travel companion in that regard, since it cuts down on all the stuff you need to use. Only if you don't feel like using them, of course!

Downside - it is at P599 for 100ml. For comparison, a bottle of Bifesta is around P420 for 300ml, while Bioderma is around P800-1,200 for half a litter, or 500 ml (depends on where you buy it). The thing with micellar water is that you have to use a generous amount to maximize its cleansing powers. So, Happy Skin ends up being more expensive compared to other micellar water available in the PH. They are all equally effective at removing makeup.

Happy Skin does promise a bit more than your average micellar cleanser. It has skin-caring, hydrating ingredients like Lotus Seed Extract, so it is designed to be a skincare product if you wish to use it as such. It can actually also double as a toner - I've used it for that purpose, and it made my skin feel really supple and soft.

Overall, the Happy Skin Make A Clean Sweep Micellar Makeup Cleanser is a great product to try if you have sensitive, oily skin. It will cleanse thoroughly without drying or irritating your face. ^_^ There are other more affordable options, but in the end it depends on what you feel works best for your skin.

Have you tried this yet? Tell me all about it!
