The Gigi Hadid x Maybelline Collection overview, swatches, and prices

As a model, Gigi Hadid basically has three places she can call home: her birthplace in Los Angeles, the fashion capital of New York, and her third home: the airplanes that take her to all her exotic work locations! Her collection with Maybelline is inspired by that supermodel lifestyle, and the Philippines is getting an Asia-first look at this ‘coast-to-coast’ makeup collection!

Gigi’s model-on-the go Jetsetter Palette (P1,899) comes in an inch-high cardboard palette almost the size of a tissue box. It contains everything you need for that minimalist, model-ready look: two shades of concealer, two shades of lip balm, four shades of neutral eye shadows, a blush, a matte bronzer, a highlighter, and a mini mascara. It also comes with all-pink eye and powder brushes.

Swatches, from left: 2 concealers, 2 lip balms, 4 eyeshadows, blush, bronzer, and highlighter

Both concealer and lip balm are pretty waxy, so they’re not likely to melt even in our heat. I found the eyeshadows, blush, and contour a little chalky and crumbly. But my favorite is definitely the on-fleek highlighter!

The East Coast Collection takes inspiration from the no-nonsense, chic New Yorker. It features a fuller collection with complete base products, eye products to create runway-ready smizes, and nude lips to compliment those strong eyes.

Swatches, from left: Tinted Primer in Light Medium, BB Cushion in Natural and Fair

The Gigi Hadid BB Cushion (P799) comes in two shades: a lighter yellow Natural and a peachier-toned Fair. The cushions are watery and lightweight but offer medium coverage. You can compliment it with the Gigi Hadid Tinted Primer in Light Medium (P499,) which is so deeply hydrating! However, it appears tan and leaves a wash of warmth even when blended out.

Gigi Hadid Eye Contour Palette in Warm and Cool

The Gigi Hadid Eye Contour Palettes (P599) in Warm and Cool are matte eyeshadow quints designed to enlarge your eyes by allowing you to create depth and dimension with the selected colors. The contour palettes come with a larger base color pan, which can help you create realistic depth in your eyes. The shades do pick up color, but again, are a little crumbly. Proceed with caution with these palettes.

Swatches, from left: Brow Pencil in Dark Brown and Brown, Liquid eyeliner in Black (thick and thin swatches)

Frame those dramatic eyes with the Gigi Hadid Brow Pencil in Dark Brown or Brown (P349). These automatic brow pencils come in a triangular lead that makes filling in and defining quick and easy. Color applies smoothly, and the unique gel-to-powder formula keeps it durable yet natural-looking.

Complete your fierce peepers with the Gigi Hadid Gel Liner in Black (P299) or Gigi Hadid Liquid Eyeliner in Black (P349). Pigment is not too strong for both of these but the gel liner is super creamy and easy to apply, while the liquid eyeliner easily goes from a full line to a smooth flick! You can also up the drama by framing your eyes with the Gigi Hadid Fiber Mascara in Black (P499). This dual-ended mascara is applied in three steps: priming the lashes with the black ink, extending with the white fibers, and covering everything with the black ink mascara once more. Maybelline is known for their mascaras, and we’ve got to say they kept the ball rolling with this one!

Swatches, from left: Matte Lip Kits in McCall, Taura and Erin

Lastly, complete the look with the Gigi Hadid Matte Lip Kits (P499) which include a shade pairing of the Gigi Hadid Matte Lipsticks (P349 solo) and the Gigi Hadid Matte Lip Liners (P249 solo). It comes in three matching shades: McCall (nude pink,) Taura (nude), and Erin (nude mauve.) The lipsticks are silicone-y and do not pull, but do lack a little kick in the color department. It’s best to pair with the lip liners, which are my favorite of the collection! They come with their own sharpeners at the bottom, are creamy AF, easy to apply, and have great pigmentation. Gigi is a nude lippie lover, and the East Coast Collection Lip Kits showcase that!

The West Coast Collection is inspired by Gigi’s hometown life in Los Angeles. Laidback and sunny, this collection features glow-inducing items and bolder lip colors to balance out those softer eyes.

Tinted Primer in Medium Deep

Start with the Gigi Hadid Tinted Primer in Medium Deep (P499). Like the East Coast version, this is immensely hydrating and leaves a darker tan. You can add oomph and fake that healthy glow with the Gigi Hadid Liquid Strobe (P399). You may also blend the strobe with foundation for a poppin’ base.

Swatches, from left: Eye Shadow Palettes in Warm and Cool with the left horizontal shade first, four square pans left to right follow, and right horizontal shade last.

The West Coast Collection has its own eyeshadow palettes: the Gigi Hadid Eye Shadow Palette in Cool and Warm (P599). It comes with a mix of mattes and shimmers to compliment that sultry-sun-kissed glow. The powders are again a little crumbly but the pigmentation on these palettes are a little better than the East Coast’s Eye Contour Palettes. The palettes have 6 shades each: a light base shade, a deep brown liner shade, and a mix of four mauvey pink mattes and shimmers (cool palette) or four coral mattes and shimmers (warm palette.) Complete the eye look with the Gigi Hadid Gel Liner in Nude (P299) on the lower lashline.

Lani, Khair, and Austyn

Lastly, top it all off with the Gigi Hadid Matte Lip Kits (P499), which are about P100 cheaper when bought together. Like the East Coast collection, West Coast offers three shades which are brighter and bolder: Lani, Khair, and Austyn. Lani is an orange-red and the lipstick matches the lip liner perfectly, but the two other shades do not. The Khair lip liner is a much cooler red than the lipstick counterpart, while the Austyn lip liner is much brighter than the deeper red lipstick.

The Gigi x Maybelline collection is available in a special Gigi booth in SM North EDSA (January 11-17) and Gigi corners in SM Department Stores: SM North EDSA, SM Megamall, SM MOA, SM Makati, SM Cebu, SM San Lazaro, SM Bacoor, SM Dasma, SM Fairview, SM Sta.
