A Review of the Dermadrop Treatment

If you’ve been reading Project Vanity for a while then you know that I’ve never been into doing facial treatments. I felt, for the longest time, that these will just break me out and irritate my skin. But since I’ve been seeing a dermatologist, we’ve been able to improve my acne dramatically and my face is nowhere near as easily triggered as it used to be! So now I am super open to trying out new technologies specifically to improve my skin texture, brighten uneven areas, and to fade blemishes faster.

Recently, I got to try something fairly new here in the Philippines: the Dermadrop. An aesthetic clinic called Amore Lumina BGC (second floor of where Marqed Salon is) has a special pop-up event for the treatment available through Parlon.ph only until April. I went for the Dermadrop Polar Brightening Facial Plus Treatment (P7,000 per session), and here is my experience!

What Exactly is Dermadrop?

At its core, Dermadrop is a skincare treatment designed to rejuvenate and revitalize the skin without the need for invasive procedures. Utilizing a device that delivers a potent mix of oxygen and serum under high pressure, this treatment promises to hydrate, brighten, and smooth the skin more effectively than topical applications alone. It’s like a tiny and powerful blow drier pointed at your skin, section by section, and the serum is basically “sprayed” into the skin.

The magic lies in the ability of the Dermadrop device to penetrate the skin's deeper layers, ensuring that the active ingredients in the serum work more efficiently. It's tailored to address various skin concerns by using specific serums, making it a versatile option for anyone looking to enhance their skin's health and appearance.

My Experience

Priced at P7,000 per session, which lasts about 30-40 minutes, this treatment promised a lot. And did it deliver? I think so!

The sensation of the treatment is hard to describe – imagine a gentle, steamy caress of tiny, non-painful needles that feels surprisingly pleasant. This is the Dermadrop device, pushing the serum deep into the skin. The process was so soothing that I actually drifted into a 30-minute nap after, a testament to the treatment's comfort level.

Afterwards, I noticed an immediate difference in my skin. It was softer, plumper, and carried a radiant glow that wasn’t there before. And it wasn't just my face that got all the pampering; my hands, often neglected in my skincare routine, also got a shot of the Dermadrop treatment. I love the hand and face massage post-treatment! This helps the serum to absorb better into the skin.

The Nitty-Gritty

What I particularly appreciated about the Dermadrop treatment was its speed and non-invasive nature. The actual serum application took no more than 20-30 minutes, making it a perfect beauty pit stop for those with a tight schedule. However, the catch is that you're advised not to wash your face until a day after the treatment to ensure the serum's benefits are fully absorbed. A small challenge, but a worthwhile trade-off I think.

Final Thoughts

Would I recommend the Dermadrop treatment? Yes, especially if you're gearing up for an event and want your skin to look its absolute best. It's a fantastic way to give your skin a quick, effective boost, ensuring you look refreshed and glowing without spending hours at the spa.

For those in Manila, you can experience Dermadrop at Amore Lumina BGC. It’s available only until April via Parlon.ph!
