Clinique's iconic Moisture Surge moisturizer gets an update - here's what to expect!

I first reviewed the iconic Clinique Moisture Surge eleven years ago here on Project Vanity. Eleven years, would you believe? It was the first true gel moisturizer I’ve tried in my life, and my mind was appropriately blown. I’ve only tried heavy cream moisturizers previously and gels weren’t as easily available before as they are now. Clinique was definitely one of the first brands that led the pack when it came to this particular innovation.

Since then I’ve gone through many, many jars of Moisture Surge over the years. It’s such a great lightweight formula for my formerly oily, now combination-dry skin! I especially enjoyed it in the past year as a basic moisturizer to use with my actives. Its main job is to keep skin hydrated with no heavy or tacky feeling, and its ingredients are mild enough that they won’t interfere with stronger skincare.

Clinique has been updating the formula of Moisture Surge over the years and now it is better than ever. I always stan a brand that constantly stays on the edge of innovation. It’s good that Clinique takes risks with a well-loved product so that it can be better for customers!

The newest Clinique Moisture Surge 100H Auto-Replenishing Hydrator (P2,650 for 50ml on Lazada) now promises 100 hours of auto-replenishing moisture so skin stays constantly hydrated. It does this by including Hyaluronic Acid, Aloe Bio Ferment, and Activated Aloe Water. So does it do what it says? I don’t know about the 100 hours - I mean, I’m certainly washing my face loooong before then, but it is definitely a lot more moisturizing than the old formula.

It feels richer to the touch and more bouncy too. It can feel a bit oily to the fingers as I spread it out but dries into a silky, smooth finish that’s definitely not greasy at all. As with all past Clinique Moisture Surge formulas, the latest one is a dream under makeup. It primes and hydrates skin without promoting oiliness down the line.

Overall, I mean, the new Clinique Moisture Surge 100H Auto-Replenishing Hydrator is a winner. I will continue using it in my routine! If you’ve always been a fan or just want to try it out, I invite you to check out Clinique’s Super Brand Day on Lazada happening TODAY. They have up to 57% off on their best-sellers plus you get so, so many gifts! Don’t miss it.
