Staff Picks: Our Christmas beauty wishlist

Did you ever write to Santa Claus about what you wanted for Christmas when you were a kid? I sure did! I tried to be extra good around the holidays and sometimes I would get the toy I asked for. Even as a grownup now, I still have a wishlist of things I’d like to receive from Santa and it’s gotten more… complicated. The PV girls put together our beauty wishes and have included product recos to help Santa out. Here’s what we’re hoping to get!

Liz: I got my beauty wish just yesterday so I'm good na! I dropped by JURO Salon for a haircut. My hair has been bothering me quite a bit - okay more than a bit - lately so as a treat to myself, I went to the best hairstylist in town. I asked for a short bob this time and got exactly what I wanted. Santa may not exist, but I swear Jude and Rose could very well be the next best thing.

Den: Though Santa has never given me the pony I asked for three Christmases in a row, I’m hoping this year’s wish is more in his budget. I’m beginning to feel the age lines creeping into my face and I would like for Santa to please stop or at least slow down the hands of time! This year, I’ve incorporated some anti-aging essences and serums into my routine but I think I need something a little more active. CosRX is finally available in the PH so may I please have their AHA 7 Whitehead Power Liquid? And that long overdue pony.

Katsy: Volumized hair most definitely. I have super thin, flat hair that I really need to make an effort just to give my strands volume. And I'm all for "no effort" beauty looks so my hair is one of my biggest frustrations. Well, that and perpetually dry lips. I have yet to find the perfect lip balm! Oh, and if I can have one more on my list, I want naturally glowing skin, which I am utterly convinced can be achieved with Chanel's LUMIÈRES DE KYOTO.

Marielle: Give me frizz-free hair! I'm all about makeup and skincare, but my hair is mostly wash-and-wear. I need for it to just be low-maintenance but behaved. Effortless, like some of my friends who don't have to blow dry or use styling products to get strands that lie flat. But since it looks like I have no choice but to style, then I'd need to ask for a styling product that "does it all". So if you have the budget, Santa, spring for a Dyson Supersonic Hair Dryer for me!

Crystal: It's really hard to choose between perfect skin and added height! I have extremely oily skin that is so high maintenance, but I also stand at around 5 feet flat, and I'm so jealous of girls who can eat a little more because they're taller! It sucks that just a little bit of weight gain is so obvious on me! But since no product will make me grow taller, I'd really like a microdermabrasion machine that will help me achieve flawless skin!

Angela: I would absolutely love flawless skin. Because of drastic hormonal changes, I’ve been experiencing terrible breakouts on my forehead and chin. I want to erase the scars forever! If only I had the budget to buy the Origins Dr. Weil's Mega Mushroom Skin Relief Advanced Face Serum. I tried it once and my skin looked amazing after!

Claire: I'd love to have normal skin! I have combination skin in the extremes. There are days when I get patches dry as the Sahara and a t-zone greasier than an oil slick. I wish I didn't have to troubleshoot problem areas every day!

Sam: I'd be extra nice to get Santa to grant me flawless skin. Imagine the time and effort saved if you didn't have to do skincare and base stuff. With that in mind, I would LOVE a skincare set from Herbivore Botanicals - the Pink Clay Exfoliating Mask, Blue Tansy AHA + BHA Resurfacing Clarity Mask, the Lapis and Orchid Facial Oils, and Rose Hibiscus Hydrating Face Mist will bring me such Christmas joy. Actually, I will take ALL of the Herbivore things, please. Thanks, Santa.

Kim: Dear Santa, can I have perfect skin? I have oily, acne-prone skin which requires crazy maintenance if I want to avoid breakout city and ugly scarring. It's frustrating because I take great pride in being a beauty girl but I can never get my skin to be completely perfect. So if you can grant me this wish please, I'd love a bottle of Estee Lauder's Advance Night Repair Serum and Eye Cream this Christmas.

Gett: I'd wish for better skin! It's so funny that once I started working I had more breakouts (most likely due to stress and lack of sleep). I've come to terms with my oily skin but I'd really just want to wake up with less breakouts. In terms of how to achieve this, I feel like I just need more sleep and relaxation! I've never tried those pillow sprays that claim to help you sleep better, so I'd love to try the Deep Sleep Pillow Spray from This Works!

Stacie: This will sound vain but I don’t think I have anything I really want to ask for from Santa. I would’ve loved a great lip balm for my desert-dry lips but I recently got a jar of In Her Element’s Nourish + Cleanse Balm, which has been working well for my lips! Maybe I would love to achieve a stronger body. So if Santa can help me by providing dumbbells or cuff weights, I’ll be really happy! That, and I want a bottle of Clean Blossom or Shower Fresh for a bit of confidence boost!

Do you have a beauty wish or two? What would you want to get from Santa this Christmas?
