Beauty Roundup: Women’s Month at SM, Lisa Eldridge snags award, Kylie Jenner’s first fragrance, and MAC’s Teddy Forever collection

And suddenly, it’s March! That means a month-long celebration: International Women’s Month. How are you celebrating it? SM Supermalls makes it easy with exclusive sales, promos, and installations at their malls nationwide. Outstanding women are also honored, including celebrity makeup artist turned beauty brand founder Lisa Eldridge. Kylie Jenner marks the month by releasing her first ever solo fragrance. We’ll also take a peek at MAC’s new collection, which takes inspiration from one of its iconic lipstick shades, Velvet Teddy.

Celebrate Women’s Month at SM Supermalls

For the whole month of March, SM Supermalls nationwide celebrate women with exclusive sales, promos, events, and IG-worthy installations. Every Wednesday this month, all women get to enjoy discounts with Women’s Wednesday Sale. Health and well-being also take the forefront with Women’s Wellness Sessions and Women’s Wellness Sale. Women empowerment is the biggest agenda for everyone at the Women Power Summit on March 8th at SM Aura.

Each SM Mall also features gorgeous installations. SM Megamall’s Mega Beauty House lets you try goodies from Tsubaki, Furla, Innisfree, Beaver, Shiseido, Issy, Happy Skin, Cosrx, The Body Shop, The Face Shop, and Pili Ani. Mall-goers can also take photos and videos at colorful setups featuring realistic giant flowers, life-sized cosmetics, and a fun ball pit!

Everyone can elevate their senses with a curated collection of local and international scents at SM Beauty’s Fragrance Fest at SM Mall of Asia. Check out the nearest SM mall nearest you for more details!

Congrats, Lisa Eldridge!

Only beauty’s legit cream of the crop are invited to the annual Marie Claire UK Prix d'Excellence de la Beauté Awards. Winners are selected by seasoned Marie Claire editors across the globe. Walking away with the Brand Founder of the Year Award this year was none other than Lisa Eldridge. She says, “I've won many awards for Makeup Artistry but this is the FIRST as a Brand Founder. My younger self that ran into school the day after her 13th birthday to announce to everyone that she was going to be a Makeup Artist is on cloud 9!”

With more than 20 years in the beauty business, Lisa Eldridge has made a name for herself as a makeup artist to the stars. She gained fans worldwide as one of the very first beauty gurus to post makeup tutorials on YouTube. Her obvious love for beauty, relatable anecdotes, and insider makeup tricks let us all in on her glamorous world. She launched her own beauty brand in 2019, and continues to push the boundaries of beauty to this day. Congratulations, Lisa, on your well-deserved win!

Kylie’s Cosmic entry into Fragrance

Never one to let age stop her from venturing into serious business, Kylie Jenner trademarked her iconic Kylie Lip Kits when she was only 17. Since then, Kylie Cosmetics has expanded its product lines to include a wide range of makeup, skin care, and even baby care products. Considering all of this, I find it kind of wild that she hasn’t released a signature fragrance with her own brand.

On March 7th, the world can enjoy Cosmic, Kylie’s first venture into fragrance. Kylie shares on Instagram, “COSMIC is a sweet, warm floral, elevated scent that is perfect for day and night.”The unique sculptural bottles were meticulously designed “to look like a piece of art from another world, and each size has its own unique shape.” It will be available in three refillable sizes: 30ml/1oz, 50ml/1.7oz, and 100ml/3.3oz with prices starting at 48 USD.

MAC Teddy Forever Collection - coming soon

The newest collection is all wrapped up in limited-edition, swoon-worthy, peachy-brown rose gold inspired by the brand’s best selling lipstick shade, Velvet Teddy. The collection of course includes lip colors in  different formulas: Retro Matte Lipstick in Eternal Teddy, Lusterglass Lipstick in Ready Teddy, Lipglass in Teddy’s Pal, Locked Kiss Ink in Bonded with Teddy, and Lip Pencil in Deeply Teddy. Also in the lineup are Colour Excess Gel Liner in Dark Brown, Fix+ Stay Over Setting Spray, Macstack Mascara in Black Stack, Brushstroke Liner in Black, and Prep + Prime Lip. I look forward to checking out the Teddy Takeover Eye & Face Palette which will be available in two color palettes: Light and Deep. Velvet Teddy might not be my personal favorite shade from MAC, but the packaging for this collection is just *chef’s kiss* perfection! I hope it will be available locally in-store soon.

And that’s it for this week’s beauty news roundup! I love how the celebration of International Women’s Month has really stepped up this year. Let’s keep the love going without forgetting the reasons behind it: gender equality and women empowerment. See you next week on the next Beauty Roundup!
