Issy Eyes of a Champion Collection

Last week, Issy posted a series of teaser photos across their social media platforms with the caption #ISSYMANIA. Models with fierce eye makeup posed as wrestlers in the ring! We could smell what Issy was cooking (see what I did there?), and all was unveiled on March 24th. Their new Eyes of a Champion collection includes Gel Pencil Extreme (in 8 shades), Precision Fluid Liner (4 shades), and the Lash Maximizing Mascara.

The Issy Gel Pencil Extreme (P349) is a matte gel pencil eyeliner with a built-in blending brush. It promises a smooth, blendable application that sets to a long-wearing, waterproof, matte finish. Bring out your creativity with its eight shades: Black Belt (black), Diva (medium brown), Superstar (sienna brown), Midnight (navy blue), Somersault (emerald green), Ninja (oxblood), Scarlet (amaranth), and Whiteout (white).

The Issy Precision Fluid Liner (P349) is a liquid eyeliner with a flexible precision brush tip. It promises pigmented, smudge-resistant lines with a matte finish. It comes in four shades: Pitch Black, Classic Brown, Smoked Brown, and Warm Brown.

Get two mascaras in one with the Issy Lash Maximizing Mascara (P599). One side is a tinted lash base that separates and primes the lashes with lengthening and volumizing microfibers. The other end is a water-resistant tubing mascara that pumps up the volume without adding weight. Apply separately if you desire, but layer the two formulas for maximum impact.

Uniqlo Philippines x Happy Skin

In celebration of Women’s Month, Uniqlo Philippines is featuring designs inspired by four “remarkable women-owned brands, adored by today’s generation.” One of them is homegrown beauty brand Happy Skin, started in 2013 with a mission to spread the joy of skin-caring makeup.

The Uniqlo UT shirts are available for a limited time in select Uniqlo stores: SM North Edsa, SM Megamall, and Westgate Alabang. Enjoy the full UTme! experience at the Uniqlo Manila Global Flagship Store in Glorietta 5, where you can get the designs printed on Uniqlo shirts (adult and kid sizes), or Uniqlo tote bags.

Like me, you probably would have come to know Bobbi Brown as a makeup artist turned founder and entrepreneur. She is undoubtedly one of the authorities in makeup and skin care, with a knack for ingenious hacks backed by professional know-how and years of experience. She also wears other hats aside from beauty expert and entrepreneur: wife, mother, traveler, and hotelier.

Who wouldn’t want some insider tips from her? In a recent Instagram post, she shares, “Super excited. I just launched a Substack!! I have so many fun and practical ideas to share.Substack describes itself as “the home for great writers and readers,” allowing its users to both publish content independently, and subscribe to creators they wish to follow. Viewable content from creators will depend on the kind of subscription users choose to have: Free, Paid, or Founding Member.

So far, she has shared a video with tips on how to choose the best foundation, and a listicle of her typical outfit choices. But who wouldn’t want to get access to live Zoom class and Q&A sessions with her?! Substack is definitely an avenue worthy of exploring for people like me. For the first time ever, CoverGirl Cosmetics is launching a #BeACoverGirl Contest online. It may sound like the premise of a coming-of-age teen movie, but it’s legit: three (3) winners are to become the next creator faces for the CoverGirl brand.

Aspirants only need to register online at beacovergirl.com, and submit or post on TikTok a 30-60-second video showing why they deserve to win. Aspiring content creators are encouraged to join! The brand states, “Our mission is to empower new voices and challenge the expectations of what it means to be the next generation of COVERGIRLS. You don't have to be flawless, feminine, or famous - you just have to be YOU.” The contest is open to legal US residents aged 18 and above.

And that’s it for this week’s beauty roundup! I hope you had fun. See you next week!
