Beauty Roundup: New drops from Ever Bilena, Hello Glow, and Dior, a Kardashian comeback, and a new luxe store in Makati

Is it still January? Apparently, yes. And with each new week comes a new wave of beauty news we bottle up and store just for you! For this week, let’s get to know new releases from local brands Ever Bilena (gorgeous powder blushes) and Hello Glow (a tinted sunscreen). Kim K is back with a new makeup collection. Feeling luxe? Check out the latest lipsticks and perfume sticks from Dior. You just might find a new place to shop at Corso Como 88, which features designer treasures from around the globe.

Get that natural flush with Ever Bilena Powder Blushes

When I first saw the photos of this new blush release, I was stunned. I could already tell it was going to perform well because of the updated color choices and skin-caring ingredients. What sealed the deal for me was Liz’s review and swatches! Goodbye, chalky, hard-to-blend, and uber bright blushes! Hello to soft, blendable, long-lasting natural flushes.

The Ever Bilena Powder Blush (P250, 3g) comes in six highly pigmented shades: Peachy Pinch (soft papaya, velvet finish), Golden Hour (matte nude peach), Dazzling Barbie (velvet bubblegum pink), Rosy Glow (velvet soft rose), Fever Dream (matte poppy red), and Heatwave (matte bold berry). As we can observe from the swatches, the color is buildable and is flattering across different skin tones. Liz reports that this creamy blush wears well for up to 4-5 hours!

Glow up with Hello Glow Niacinamide Tinted Sunscreen

Your eyes do not deceive you, local skin care brand Hello Glow recently released the Niacinamide Tinted Sunscreen (P329, 50g). This is their first venture into color products, well, kinda! Aside from incorporating skin-caring ingredients such as Niacinamide and Hyaluronic Acid, it also features tone-adapt technology. This allows the formula to adjust to the user’s pH level, and should work well across all skin tones.

The result: hydrated, brighter skin with a dewy finish. The brand recommends layering the SPF application, interestingly. After the tinted sunscreen dries, it is recommended to follow up with Hello Glow Sun Care Stick (P395). I find it very interesting, because traditionally you’d want to apply color makeup (or in this case, skin care/makeup hybrid) as the last step. I also personally like the very travel-friendly packaging, so easy to tote along wherever!

Kim Kardashian makeup is back!

Many mourned the sudden closure of KKW Beauty (Kim Kardashian’s first makeup business) in August 2021. Among its most popular products were nude lip liners and contour sticks. Fans were a bit mollified by the launch of SKKN BY KIM in 2022, carrying skin care products. Still, KKW loyalists didn’t stop the call for makeup products. The effort paid off!

Launching on January 26th on the skknbykim.com website, are an eyeshadow palette, lipsticks, and lip liners that mirror Kim K’s iconic smoky eye and signature nude lip look. The Classic Mattes Eyeshadow Palette ($50) features 12 warm and cool nude velvet matte shades. The Soft Matte Lip Color ($32) will be available in 10 nude shades, promising high color payoff with comfortable wear. The Lip Liner ($22) is available in even more colors (15 nude shades in total). Kim has always been a savvy businesswoman, and while the collection may look boring to some, I feel like the choice of products for the initial lineup was smart. It’s what KKW Beauty fans have clamored for, and will be a good start for newer additions in the future.

Enchantingly modern drops from Dior

Who wouldn’t want to own a piece of couture? The House of Dior has been busy, and is not letting us down with a series of new releases! First up, the Rouge Dior. It’s the OG makeup product created by Christian Dior himself in 1953 to complete runway looks for models. Peter Philips, Creative and Image Director for Dior Makeup, was tasked with modernizing the formula. He says, “Renovating Rouge Dior is always an exciting challenge. Because how can you top an already excellent product? And we did it again, through formula, ingredients, color expertise and savoir faire. The new Rouge Dior is ready to keep its crown as reigning lipstick.” I would say that he has done the job thoroughly well, with a total of 70 shades in satin and velvet finishes. Rouge Dior promises to deliver high color, high coverage, and long wear without sacrificing comfort. Rouge Dior (PHP 3,000.00 each) is available exclusively at all Dior Beauty Boutiques and Counters.

The one and only Natalie Portman stars in its campaign. The brand describes the scents as: “Sensual like Miss Dior Eau de Parfum, it offers its shimmering ‘Millefiori’ bouquet, where Rose reigns majestically, powdered with notes of noble iris, heightened by peony and lily of the valley, then enveloped in notes of vanilla and warm woods.Tender like Blooming Bouquet, it reveals a vibrant facetted armful of wildflowers blending Damascena Rose, peony and sweet-pea, illuminated by bergamot, on a bed of patchouli and comforting white musks.

Miss Dior Mini Miss Eau de Parfum (PHP 5,150.00, and PHP 3,950.00 for a refill) and Miss Dior Mini Miss Blooming Bouquet (PHP 4,100.00, and PHP 3,200.00 for a refill) are now available exclusively at all Dior Beauty Boutiques and Counters.
