Beauty Roundup: New Fenty Concealer, Essence’s CNY Drops, Natasha Denona’s Valentine Release,  and Colourpop x Twilight!

Two weeks into 2024, and I’m already lemming for some new makeup. New year, new (makeup) look! If you’re feeling me, this week’s BNR is right up your alley. Let’s roundup the most exciting releases so far in color cosmetics! I heard that our girl RiRi is adding a new hydrating concealer to her Fenty Beauty lineup. Drugstore makeup steps up with Essence Cosmetics’ Love, Luck, & Dragons collection. Natasha Denona curates beautiful colors for their 2024 Valentine additions. Last, but most definitely not the least, get ready to be dazzled with Colourpop’s latest collab with Twilight!

Get Even with Fenty Beauty’s new hydrating concealer

This week, We’re Even Hydrating Longwear Concealer ($30) drops on the Fenty Beauty website. Fans of the brand know that every complexion product is available in a wide shade range, and this one has 50 shades to choose from.

It promises medium to full coverage with a natural, soft matte finish. This is the first Fenty concealer to incorporate skin-caring ingredients like Sodium Hyaluronate, Prickly Pear Cactus Extract, and Persian Silk Tree Extract; selected to hydrate, brighten, and de-puff for up to 12 hours of wear. Sounds like it will work well both as an under-eye concealer and blemish cover up.

I hope this becomes available on Sephora.ph soon. I already know my shade - Fenty Beauty has a helpful Shade Finder anyone can access online on their mobile phones. Based on a selfie taken in optimal lighting, the website recommends makeup shades depending on your preferred Shade Type (cooler, lighter, deeper, warmer), Coverage (buildable, full, medium, light), and Finish (soft-matte or natural). There’s even a cute slider feature that shows real-time before and after effects. I feel like I already tried the product in real life without leaving the comfort of my home!

Essence Cosmetics Love, Luck, & Dragons Collection

How cute is this 2024 Chinese New Year collection from Essence? The thoughtfully-curated Love, Luck, & Dragons Collection includes a sparkly gold Liquid Eyeliner, Nail Jewels & Stickers, Lip & Cheek Tint, Lipstick Case, Hydrogel Eye Patches, 2 Creamy Lipsticks, and a 9-pan Eyeshadow Palette. The design honors this year’s Zodiac Animal: the Dragon. I personally love how appealing they made it look with touches of gold and intricate details.

I mean, look at the perfect dragon carving on that lipstick! Even the hot-pink undereye patches are dragon-shaped. I would totally grab something from this collection if I had been a Dragon baby.

My pick for best value for money is the Love, Luck, & Dragons Eyeshadow Palette (€ 8.99, around P550 as of writing). It features a mix of nine matte, metallic, and duo-chrome shades, one of which can be used as an eyeliner when used with a wet brush. For now, the collection is available in Europe.

Natasha Denona’s Berry Pop Collection will light up your Valentine look

Natasha Denona is giving Cranberry deliciousness for her Valentine collection this year. And I would totally eat it up! When used together, it would make for a cohesive cranberry-flushed dimensional look. There are a total of three new releases: Berry Pop Cheek Trio, Berry Pop Lipstick, and Berry Pop Lip Crayon.

The Berry Pop Cheek Trio is designed to be layered at strategic points of the face to create a glowy cranberry flush. Use the Cream Blush to create color on the cheeks, layer the Tinted Glow Cream Base for dimension, and Dream Glow for a buildable highlight. Line the lips with the Berry Pop Lip Crayon, and fill in with the Berry Pop Lipstick.

The result: an eye-catchingly cohesive look perfect for Valentine’s, or honestly any other day. Fans are swooning over the beautifully colored compact and lippie casings. The Natasha Denona website accepts international orders, but I’m really hoping these will be added on Sephora.ph real soon.

Dazzle from head to toe with Twilight x ColourPop

ColourPop releases a massive collection this week featuring Twilight! I am SO here for it even though I’m no Twihard. In all my years of reading books and then watching their movie versions, this is one of the rare exceptions where I would say I liked the movies better–they were so visually compelling! It looks like this collection has taken inspiration from the movie locations, particularly the lovely town of Forks. And how sparkly vampire skin is in the movie series. Honestly, I’m just happy to see a vampire collection that isn’t all red and black.

To achieve that Twilight glow, there are two Super Shock Highlighter ($10) shades: Vampire Skin (icy white), and Meadow (opalescent lavender). For the body, Twilight x ColourPop SOL Shimmering Dry Body Oil has straight up silver sparkles in a sheer cool-toned white base.

I am loving the cool jewel tones of the 15-pan Twilight x Colourpop Eyeshadow Palette ($24). The mix of glittery, metallic, and matte shades stands out from their other popular palettes. The versatile colors can be used for everything from a multi-dimensional monochrome green look, whimsical periwinkle eye, or even a neutral everyday eye look.

The Twilight X ColourPop Graphix Ink Liner ($10) is available in three shades: Vampire (metallic vampy red, Coven (rich black with silver sparkle), and Forever (metallic forest green with green shimmer). You don’t get to see a lot of sparkly eyeliners like this. That green is giving me emerald feels!

Rounding up the collection are three Lux Lip Oils ($11) that will definitely add sparkle when worn alone or over your lippie of choice. Bells is a vampy blackened red, Team Edward is an interesting deep blue with silver sparkles, and Team Jacob is a sheer black with silver pinpoints. Although these come in a sheer formula (as all lip oils typically are), I wonder if they would change up the lip color when worn on top of lipstick.

The collection is available on the ColourPop website starting January 11th. They do international shipping for online orders. Calling all Twilghters, Fanpires, and Twihards: get your hands on these as early as you can as the collection is anticipated to sell out fast.

I hope you enjoyed our little online makeup spree on BNR today as much as I did! Which ones caught your eye!
