My top 10 favorite finds last August

Man, I noticed that I only published 30 posts last month! My average is 40-50, and yes I can still get that number even when I'm busy. I guess August was just a generally uninspired month for me. Call it a minor break from blogging! I'm sure September is more interesting, beauty-wise. The brands are getting ready to launch their autumn and holiday collections so I'm sure we'll have lots of awesome things to look forward to.

I also want to post more FOTDs this September. I remember the good ol' days when beauty bloggers would share more FOTDs and tutorials than reviews. Sure reviews are useful, but looks of the day show those products in action. I'd like to polish up my eyeshadow chops and try out new combinations - I have a few new good eyeshadow palettes that I can't wait to play with!

Okay okay I'm done with the small talk. Here is my monthly list of favorites! :)

The Clinique Long Last Lipstick in Runway Coral is probably my banner lipstick this August. I love the formula and the elegant silver bullet, but really it's the color that got me all infatuated. Coral-watermelon-pink shades never fail to brighten my complexion even if I'm not wearing much makeup!

The ZA Plumper Lips Lipstick in Rose Vintage is a more subdued lipstick - something more appropriate for work engagements or errands. Hey, a girl can't have too many MLBB lipsticks if you ask me! (Which just gave me an idea for a blog post, hehe).

I've lost count of the number of lip balms I have - and their exact locations - so I pick up whatever is in my line of sight. I make sure that the Hurraw! Grapefruit Lip Balm is always in my line of sight. It's one of the best lip balms I've tried so far! Check out my other picks: my top five favorite lip balms.

I'm lucky enough to have relatively good skin lately, which is why I'm content with just a tinted moisturizing base most days. I like the Dermalogica Sheer Tint SPF20 because it gives me face a subtle glow, SPF protection, and serves as a great makeup base if I need to add more coverage.

The Maybelline Dream Bouncy Blush may look blah when you see it on display, but this looks quite pretty when layered on the cheeks. It gives just the right touch of color that stays put for about three hours. The compact is light and small enough to take around for retouching!

Already ordered more shades of the L'Oreal Infallible Eye Shadow! This is perhaps the easiest to apply and most long-wearing eyeshadow I've tried to date. I wish L'Oreal would come out with matte and satin shades for Infallible though. Most days, I find that the finish is too metallic for a casual look.

I want to wear more false lashes in the future! Falsies make my wide face look smaller, so it's a sneaky "contouring" technique. ;) I enjoyed wearing the Ardell Fashion Lashes. They're natural and light on my eyes, and they fit me juuuust right. The set is a bit pricey (P600) but I think I can wear it four times at most.

I just had both my legs and underarms lasered at Wink last weekend. The underarm treatment was a breeze, but the leg laser was a wee bit hot after about half a minute. There was a mild discomfort. It's worth it though! I can't wait for my leg/pit hair to be gone forever. They say I only need four more sessions before I'm done. Eyes on the prize, Liz! I'll do a post on laser after care very soon.

Great skincare combinations are hard to find, so when I do find them, I stick to that pairing. Kiehl's skincare go extremely well together even though the products are not from the same line. For example, the Skin Rescuer and Powderful Strength Line-Reducing Concentrate are a match made in heaven! The SR is hydrating while the LRC fills in fine lines and softens them after a while.

I love clean, soapy scents, and CLEAN fragrances make some of the best kinds out there. I love spritzing it on when I'm in a light mood; it leaves such a nice, freshly-showered scent trail in my wake. ^_^

So there you go, my top ten! Do you have new awesome finds that we all should know about? Spill!

PS I would super appreciate it if you can help me win at the Stylebible.ph Virtual Style Awards! You can vote 10 times everday (just click till it's ten) until September 15. Thank you very much!
