I love Kiehl's: the Skin Rescuer and Line-Reducing Concentrate

I only started using Kiehl's last year, but since then it's been a staple in my skincare regimen. I'm a huge huge fan of the Kiehl's Rare Earth Deep Pore Cleanser, the Ultra Light Daily UV Defense, Clearly Corrective Dark Spot Solution, and the Midnight Recovery Concentrate! I find Kiehl's to be gentle on my skin while still being extremely effective at the same time. The products also never cause me to break out.

A couple of months back, the brand sent me some new products to try. I've been using two of them regularly until I switched to a new regimen - purely for review purposes mind you, not because the Kiehl's stuff didn't work out. Anyway, here's a review of the new Skin Rescuer and Line-Reducing Concentrate! I'll save the Beautifying BB Cream for next time as I have only used it once.

The Kiehl's Skin Rescuer Stress-Minimizing Daily Hydrator (P1,700) is a basic moisturizer that is formulated to lessen the effect of stress on our skin. Its key ingredients are the Rose Gallica Extract (limits the release of stress signals), Mannose (a sugar from the wood pulp of birch and maple tress, said to increase the moisture barrier), Chamomile Extract (to sooth skin), and Squalane (from olives, to prevent dehyhdration).

It is interesting to note that this moisturizer only has seven ingredients. I was surprised but pleased to know that the concentration of the ingredients are not diluted by fillers and additives.

So is it an effective moisturizer? Definitely! The Skin Rescuer is a thick gel that has a very subtle, clean scent. It moisturizes skin immediately and keeps it hydrated throughout the day. It can feel heavy in our hot weather, so I prefer to use only a tiny amount during the day and to slather it on in the evening.

The Skin Rescuer doesn't do much beyond moisturizing, soothing, and smoothing the skin, but it is darn well good at these things. My skin felt supple and just generally nice while I was using it. Try it if you're looking for a nourishing daily moisturizer for your dry to combination skin! Notice the price tag too, as P1,700 is very reasonable for a 75 ml bottle.

And here is the Kiehl's Powderful Strength Line-Reducing Concentrate (~P3,000). It's another one of those things I've had for ages (I have an older bottle from a year ago) but never get around to using. When I do, I'm like "Why did I not try this before???" This serum is designed to lessen the appearance of wrinkles. It's mortifying but I already have a few fine lines around my mouth! After a month or so of using this serum, they are somehow less obvious.

Observe:

There are still lines around my lips but check out the corner area. Last May, the lines were quite marked, but by July the lines have receded. Cool huh? I'm sure there will be more improvement once I continue using the serum.

The Line-Reducing Concentrate is silicone-based so it can soften lines instantly. The silicone makes it a great makeup base, actually, as it helps makeup adhere and blend better. Will it make your base last longer? Not considerably so. It will just look better!

And that's it really. :) I highly recommend the Kiehl's Skin Rescuer and Line-Reducing Concentrate if they suit your skin's needs. I can't say that they will be okay on oily skin, but if you have dry/combi skin, mid-20s to 30s, then this duo should work for you.

It's so weird because i was just browsing michelle phan's instagram last night and i just saw her raved on kiehl's bb cream but it was a skin tone correcting bb cream with the same amount of spf like yours (i think this is just the same bb cream since this also says it corrects skin tone. Yay! Yehey). Now that is a review worth waiting for!! Excited for that..

There really are some smoothening happening around your mouth area, wow it's effective nga. It has been just two months! I hope that once you've finally reviewed all your moisturizers at hand, you could be able to make a post about battles of the moisturizers' (or the like) just so we can really find what's the best type or brand that will suit our skin. So much things to look forward to in your blog!!! Have fun in HK, Liz! God bless! =)

Oh wow! That photo of the before and after is mighty convincing! I haven't tried anything from Kiehl's yet butt I want to try the spot corrector in hopes of reducing my scars from acne from way before.

Wow! That serum is uh-mazing!!! Will wait for your review on the BB cream :)

Wow that's a pretty marked difference in the lines around your lips! I really should consider Kiehls, especially when I get the budget for it.

The line-reducing concentrate's result is remarkable. Mkapag-save nga! I'm in my mid-20s and fine lines are starting to creep in. eeeek!

Damn! That concentrate really IS powerful! I wouldn't mind spending P3k on that when I get older!

I find Kiehl's very expensive, but really don't mind paying more if the products deliver naman. I think a lot of their products are worth the price! I love their Blue Herbal line! Very effective for my oily skin. I'm curious about the Powerful Strength Line-Reducing Concentrate! Looks very effective.

Have you tried any eye creams from them? I'm curious!

I am totally IN LOVE with Kiehl's BB Cream. It's like sorcery in a tube. It feels very light and the scent reminds me of brown sugar(?) and coverage is great. It makes my skin look glowing and does not leave a white cast even though it has SPF.

I actually love Kiehl's products because:
1. They work on me... slowly but surely.
2. Everything smells really nice. Whenever I put on any Kiehl's product, I take the time to sniff the scent off my fingers. Weird, I know. Lol.
3. Worth the price. They're quite expensive if you look at the price tag, but since a little goes a looooong way, you actually end up saving money. You wouldn't have to repurchase as much as you usually would. For example, I bought my Clearly Corrective Serum last February, and I'm not even halfway through it even though I use it every night :)

Wow Amazing Kiehl's Powderful Strength Line-Reducing Concentrate
The word Pure Vitamin C caught my attention. I was given a sachet to sample and the texture of the serum is very creamy and rich but it is absorbed into your skin the minute you applied onto it! It gives a warm sensation and I was very impressed with it's brightening effect! My skin looks wonderful after one sachet of sample usage. I didn't see any reducing of laughing lines but my I see visible results of whitening and glowing effect. I love this product and I am really saving up to add it to my skin care routine. Just use it after you cleanse, tone and before moisturizer and you'll see a difference in your skin appearance after a week!

I also want to try that BB Cream from Kiehls too. ♥

I love Kiehl's products! :) I've tried the Beautifying BB Cream, and I think it's great! Although I haven't tried a lot of BB creams to begin with, so I don't have much to compare it with. All I can say is, whenever I use it, I get compliments from people. :D And my boyfriend asked me if I was wearing makeup even if the BB cream was the only thing I got on my face.

I was supposed to ask Ms. Liz if she has any advice on how to get rid of dark spots, when I noticed there's already a previous post about the Clearly Corrective Dark Spot Solution. :) I just recently got into makeup, and being the newbie that I am, I don't use a proper makeup remover. I noticed my pimples don't dry out completely but become dark spots. :( I just ignored them for the past few months as I thought they would eventually go away, to my horror, they are still there with no signs of going away soon. My skin has never been acne-prone until now, and pimples usually just disappear quickly, but now they just stay there for a long time and leaves ugly dark spots as remembrance. Will surely try the Dark Spot Solution when I get the budget. :D

Wow at that concentrate! Visible result in 2 months? beat that! I'll try to save money for this, to bust some fine lines under my eyes :O

August 8, 2013 | Unregistered CommenterPaui

@Paui forgot to mention, it's not recommended for use under the eyes :(

August 8, 2013 | Registered CommenterLiz Lanuzo

Oh WOW! I can't afford the Kiehl's line but it sure looks effective

August 8, 2013 | Unregistered CommenterJoMaEli

I like to think that my constant praise of Kiehl's subconsciously influenced you hahaha.

I didn't like the BB cream, but my Clearly Corrective Serum + Midnight Recovery Concentrate is the greatest. I can't do base now because I love the glow it gives me. Question, though. Can I use the Powerful Line Reducing Concentrate with my current regimen? Is it overkill?

Re: Skin Rescuer – I love it. I still have a giant bottle of the Ultra Facial Moisturizer but I might just pick this up the next time I drop by Kiehl's.

August 9, 2013 | Unregistered CommenterKrysty

Oh yes, I can see the change. I've been dreaming to try kiehl's too but it's just too expensive for atm. I can see that the brand is really effective based on your reviews.
