FOTD: Fluttery eyes

Confession: I've been steadily collecting false lashes in the hopes that one day I'll be brave enough to wear them out of the house. False eyelashes intimidate me. However, I know that like eyeliner and lash curling, I just need to practice my lash application! I mean, if other people can do it, it should be easy enough to learn.

Anyhoo it's been a while since I did an FOTD! I think Instagram is the best way to publish looks like this, but I also wanted to say a few things about the Ardell Fashion Lashes (P600) that I got from Watsons. They're pretty natural, I think, without losing any of that fluttery effect false lashes give to the eyes.

I got this pack specifically because it's a three-piece set. I wanted to get some Ardell glue for my other falsies, plus I wanted to try out that nifty plastic lash holder (which is sold separately too). The lash glue did not disappoint - it held the lashes until I pulled them off. It also rubs off with water-based makeup remover. Sadly the lash holder thingie was a disappointment. It did nil to help me attach the lashes. :/

Nice lashes overall. I just need to practice more. :) On to the look - these days I prefer "clean" makeup with big eyes and bold lips. The whole thing can look overdone with blush, so I just contoured my cheeks, nose, and jawline for extra definition.

Here's what I used to achieve the look!

Face: Benefit Hello Flawless Oxygen Wow liquid foundation, MAC Studio Finish Concealer, K-Palette Zero Kuma Concealer (for eye bags) Snoe Powder Extraordinaire, Guerlain Meteorites

Contour: MAC Harmony

Eyeshadows: Artdeco Primer Base, MAC All That Glitter on the lids, MAC Soba on the crease

Eye definition: Eye of Horus eyeliner, Fairydrops Platinum Mascara, Ardell false eyelashes, Shiseido eyebrow pencil, Majolica Majorca Brow & Lash Colorist

Lips: Clinique Long Last Lipstick in Runway Coral

So there you go! ^_^ Lemme know what you think! And, what are your favorite combinations - strong lips + strong cheeks, pale lips + strong eyes, etc?

Seriously?! Gaaah your skin looks goood!! This FOTD just proves that the benefit foundation is worth being on your HG list! And of course, your good skin is still peeking through. I'll be doing my best to achieve that. Haha. Anyway! Those lashes seem natural nga! Nothing too dramatic or over the top. It looks extremely photogenic. Now this makes me want to try on some falsies! Like you, i'm not brave enough to wear that but Liz, it looks good on you. You're doing something right by wearing it. :) And the lipstick doesn't seem to me bold at all. It looks nakaka-fresh! Why you gotta do this. :/ I seriously want this to be my birthday makeup. Hehe. Or something like neutral eyes and red lips. But right now i'm trying on bold eyes and nude lips. Or maybe this look! It's like bold but not really, like you've put some effort but it still looks just natural and fresh. The best combo! Thanks for this. I will try to achieve this soon. Hehe. God bless! =)

BTW, is this lippie somewhat similar in terms of shade to the revlon coral berry? Thank you so much! And please do more FOTDs! ^ ^

Hi Liz! I know the Majolica lash colorist is your favorite but I found a pretty good dupe for it! The Kate by Kanebo brow gel is super good too! Costs only P515 if I'm not mistaken :)

Hi ms. Liz! Where do you buy your contact lenses? Are they graded? Roughly how much? Thanks!

You look gorgeous Ms. Liz :) Ang blooming mo lang! You should do more FOTDs! This made me less intimidated on trying eyeshadows, I'd like to achieve your my eyemakup here. I think I'll go simple eye + strong lips, lose everything but the lips for me :) (and brows) hehe.

Looking good! I like how you made the eyemakeup soft and pretty then paired it with bold lips. By not opting for a bold blush, the focus was kept on the lips and eyes.

When I want to do a red lip, I skip eyeshadows and then just apply loads of mascara.

False lashes intimidate me too. I have this fear that they'll suddenly fall off while I'm outside the house. And because I'm not used to them, they feel heavy on my eyelids.

You are so purdy!!! :) Those lashes really open up your eyes. I love love love how you do your makeup. You always look so classy. :) I usually go for strong eyes and nude lips cos I like playing around with my eye shadows. hehe

Waaaah you're so pretty! Just last time I practice wearing falsies and they look really nice but I love that one you got. It's a bit pricey but I love the natural effect on your eyes. Sobrang natural siya <3

Wahhhhh finally had my dose of PV!! Up until now, you still do the best brows. I've been trying and trying and SOMETIMES, it turns out okay, but it takes me 30 mins at most to finish. :(

My favorite combination as of now, is flushed cheeks + rosy lips. Drawing inspiration from Anne Hathaway here, pero I don't know, nakaka-fresh kasi siyang tingnan, what with our weather ngayon. I hope you're safe ms. Liz! :)

I also love using faux lashes.. but now I've discover this trick wherein you can just put petroleum jelly on your lashes every night to make it longer! :)

I find falsies can be uncomfortable when worn for a long time, so I like to half them and use them on the outer half of my lids only (because doing the opposite would look crazy, lol). The more expensive the falsies the more comfortable though (usually). Loving the look! Very clean and polished. :) Personally have been doing a lot of smokey, smudgy eye looks paired with a nude glossy lip and tons of mascara. I'm trying to be less of a perfectionist when it comes to eye makeup... kinda like Sam Chapman as opposed to Nic! :)

I've never worn falsies out too for the same reasons! I still need to practice. A lot. I should get a good lash glue first too. Most of the falsies I've tried (I've tried a few pa lang naman) can get a bit overwhelming for my small eyes, that's why I'm looking for shorter ones (but not too short that they won't serve their purpose. haha). Most of the ones available are too long for my liking.

I think you should try brands like Dolly Wink or Diamond Lash if you'd want something more natural plus I think they're much friendlier on your wallet since for the same price (this is Diamond Lash's case) you could get 5 pairs. :D I know dull to doll carries Dolly Wink wink wink :D

Never tried applying falsies properly, because I think I look like a magical fairy on it. Hahaha. Anyway it's nice to switch and swatch from the usual, just have to find the right timing. Your lippie looks awesome too. I pretty missed commenting here, I had and have so many errands to do. Anyway I still pay a visit once in a while. :]

Nice FOTD, the lashes looks so natural looking. What glue do you use? Do you use the glue provided with the Ardell or do you prefer DUO? I also like your contact lenses, where you bought it from?

I love Bright and Bold with Strong Lips. I am inspired with Katy Perry's Pink Bold lips with luscious, long false lashes blend with black gel eyeliner and mascara on both upper and lower lashes with neutral shadow to shade along the socket line to add more depth, for the blush I go with it with baby pink tone that reminds me of the 50's era Marilyn Monroe and blending along the cheekbones rather than over the apples of the cheeks.
I also love Marilyn Monroe's Red Lips ♥

More FOTD's and More Power Liz!

Your smiling photos here, Liz, are the most blooming I've seen in your blog :)

You're so pretty Ms. Liz! ♥ why not try sophia eyelash enhancer? It's an eyelash enhancer that can make your lashes longer and changes are visible for just only 2 weeks. Ive seen a lot of reviews about it. But I think It is super effective. Gonna try it soon. Btw, I love this false eyelashes! :))
