My top 10 favorite finds last June

I just realized that I did three themed weeks last month! Do check out the Lipstick Week, MAC Week, and Shiseido Week. My plan was just two with a week in between, but I found it easier to have some direction when choosing what to write about. There are so many unreviewed products here that I have stopped trying to figure out which goes first! I'll just go with the theme, or whatever I am liking at the moment, because I want to hold on to my sanity.

If you have suggestions for future themed weeks, I would love to hear them! I actually got the Lipstick Week idea from one of the comments on this blog. ;) Anyway here's my top ten favorite products from June. Let me know if you found anything interesting.

Lipstick fiend that I am, one of my favorite things last month is MAC Rebel. It's an amazing purply fuchsia that I feel works with my coloring perfectly! It's a unique shade that I'll keep close to my heart for years to come.

The NARS Satin Lip Pencils have been making waves in the beauty world ever since they came out early this year. The buttery texture, opacity, and gorgeous shades had everyone swooning over these sophisticated black pencils. My favorite shade is Lodhi, but I would also grab Yu in the near future! Hyde Park, a berry red, is also a great shade to have on hand.

I also liked the new Avon Vitaluscious Lipstick. Some people might be disappointed by the sheer coverage of these lipsticks, but they are terribly moisturizing due to their essential oil content. I think they are closer to lip butters than actual lipstick! Get them if you like moisture over opaque color. There's always the Avon Totally Kissable Lipstick for color maniacs out there (like me, although I sure appreciate a good sheer lippie).

I think I am in love with Real Techniques brushes. No, it's love. I'm sure. I love the smooth synthetic hair and their odd but utterly functional shapes. My latest additions are the Real Techniques Expert Face Brush and Blush Brush, and they are part of my makeup routine now. You have to try these if you haven't yet!

The M.A.C Blot Powder has a very specific function: it's for blotting out oil and removing shine. No more no less. That can be rather limiting as other pressed powders can set makeup and give some coverage, but I am alright with a simple blotting powder. It's pretty effective in absorbing oil and preserving my makeup without making it look chalky.

The Smashbox Heat Wave Eye Shadow Palette is easily one of the loveliest palettes I have! I feel that the colors aren't too common, and have you seen their pigmentation and smoothness? This is a nice buy for makeup afficionados who are looking for subtlely different shades.

Did you ever have a product and wonder, how can this possibly be any good? Sometimes it's not about the product - it's about how you use it! It's all in the application technique, sometimes. I realized that the best way to use the Eye of Horus Natural Smoky Eye Pencil in Black is to smudge it and what do you know it looks amazing that way! It stays that way, too. This is a nice liner to use when I want dramatic eyes without bothering with eyeshadows.

I love ultra-groomed and perfect brows but sometimes I simply don't have time for the required details. Days like that I prefer to draw with the Shiseido Natural Eyebrow Pencil in Deep Brown BR602 - it is super easy to apply and blend. I recommend you use a light hand though, as this particular shade is on the darker spectrum.

And here is my HG eyelash curler. :) I find that the Shiseido Eyelash Curler fits my big eyes best due to its wider rim and opening. Bye bye pinching!

The world is deeply divided on FitFlops, but I have made my stand since I slipped on this unassuming pair. True love, that is what I felt. Nothing can separate me from them! Read to know why FitFlops is one of the best things that ever happened to my feet!

So there you go. Share you favorites from last month too!
