Shiseido Week: White Lucent Power Brightening Mask

My allergy kicked in a couple of days ago, right smack in the middle of a busy day. I started sneezing uncontrollably and just generally feeling like crap. Eyes red, nose puffy, a wake of crumpled tissues in my path. Ugh. I don't even know exactly what I'm allergic to - my guess is it's pollen or grass. It happens only once a month, when the condo's gardeners tend the grounds.

Anyway I decided to break out my Shiseido White Lucent Power Brightening Mask (P3,250/ 6 pieces) to somehow help my skin recover from the dullness brought by the allergic reaction. It worked! I've tried it once before but didn't really notice the individual effect since a Shiseido facialist used it as part of a service. (Yes they do facials in Shiseido boutiques, fyi. Ask them about it some time.)

Anyhoo I'm so happy that this is a mask that works with my skin, instead of against it, for I have a history of breaking out with masks. That's why I rarely use them, whether they're mud or essence based. I didn't react with the White Lucent mask which is ++++ points in my book!

I used it after cleansing with my facial wash, then left it on for ten minutes as per instructions in the back. This mask is heavy with the essence/serum. It's literally dripping! In fact there was so much liquid left over in the mask that I was able to wipe my whole body with the serum. Legs, arms, neck. IMHO, that's an excellent use of the product! :P

So what's the effect? My face felt thoroughly hydrated as I went to sleep. I didn't bother with my usual moisturizer and serum combo. When I woke up, my skin was definitely brighter and less tired. It also felt smooth and fresh. You know what I mean. The effect lasted throughout the day! Actually until today, my skin feels extra nice.

The long-term benefits of the White Lucent mask includes whitening and blemish breakdown. It is recommended that you use it twice a week but oh dear that's rather expensive routine considering one package of six pieces will be consumed in three weeks. I guess it's okay to use it once a week to get some of the benefits.

I'm smiling inside, okay! See how red my eyes are. Hate hate hate allergies.

Overall, the Shiseido White Lucent Power Brightening Mask is a great addition to any skincare routine. It serves to brighten and smoothen instantly, and is thus a useful "extra" to have around if your skin is more stressed out that usual. It's best in tandem with the Shiseido White Lucent Intensive Spot Targeting Serum for that extra kick.

What are your plans for the weekend? I'll drop by Duty Free Philippines today with my family. You can guess what is about to happen! Three words: beauty section raid!

The price of beauty. How sad. They're so expensive!! For masks, I turn to the reliable EH. Luckily, even if my face is sensitive, I don't get any breakouts. Plus, they're cheaper too!

I got a sample of this from the sampleroom and boy was I thrilled to try it out. I literally wrung every drop of it and rubbed it onto my arms legs and neck! My face felt soft and radiant looking.

Really want to try this. Pero way out of my budget.. :(((( I also missed this in Sample Room. Pag-ipunan ko sana! :)) read reviews that this one made their skin supple talaga. I'm really after supple skin like Koreans and Japanese. I guess masks really helped in making their skin look supple, soft, smooth and super moisturized. I tried Olay's mask and boy it is really nice too. Will try Etude House masks nga. :) Did you try their masks na?

I only use basic moisturizer, toner and cleanser and i think that this mask would be too much of a splurge for my face. Hehe. But i'm impressed at how it worked for you. I'm having a hard time figuring out the reason of my breakouts lately (just started after giving birth), and what's harder is treating the breakouts themselves. Do you think this can soothe redness as well? Maybe it would be cheaper to purchase this than to occasionally visit a dermatologist. And maybe this is the reason of your radiance and 'freshness' as being evident on your recent instagram pictures, combined with the makeup you are using. Nakaka-fresh lang!

Hi Marie, your breakouts are most likely caused by hormonal imbalance. :) no topically applied product can cure them. it's best to see a dermatologist for it! Usually you would need oral medication. You're most likely breast feeding, ask your doctor for options. :)

THis is one of wish list, super pricey kasi, pero I wasn't sure if it was perfect for me, coz I have a oilsy skin as in. I might try this once I'm not tight-budgeting.hehe

This is a must-try product. Thank you so much for this review. This is too expensiiive =( I think i must start saving money now. i want my blemishes to go away naaaa. I really regret the day I decided to get a facial, i think the marks left from the facial will be on my face foreveeer =( Haha! Btw, i started having "Butligs" on my face, i don't really know if it's a pimple or what. All i know is I already want them to vanish already. What products can you recommend for me to use?? =D
