New cut and color from JURO Salon

My mid-length hair has been unbearably frizzy and unruly this summer, so I was lucky that JURO Salon asked if I wanted my hair done at their awesome salon! Blogger perks, yo. I was honestly planning to schedule a visit there this June, but I'm glad (and honored!) they were kind enough to offer the service to me at no cost.

For it is true: once you're touched by Jude and Rose, you can't be happy with any other hair stylist. :) At least in my case. My hair is difficult because it's wavy and doesn't stay in one shape for long, so its layers and length have to be cut as precisely as possible to account for the growth. In the past, I'd leave the salon feeling pleased with my styled hair, but as soon as I wash it, it just doesn't look quite as nice. With JURO, I can't wait to wash my hair! It grows out so well too that I didn't need a hair cut in like seven months (my last visit was September).

I actually liked my hair better as it grew longer!

Jude gave me a more layered cut this time. Still a short bob like before, but with more texture in the bottom. Rose on the other hand dyed my locks in warm, reddish highlights to match my skin and to give the illusion that my hair has more movement. I love the results, more so that the style is literally just wash and wear! I don't even need to blow dry it anymore, which wasn't the case with my first hair cut.

Blow drying gives me straighter results of course. I'd do it if I'm going to an event. But Jude encouraged me to let my natural hair texture and curls show, because that's "the look" this year. ^_^

So there you go! I'm pleased as punch with my new 'do. It's my second time at Juro, and you bet that as long as I can afford it, I would go to Jude and Rose. They are the best! You must go to them when you can.

I love how Jude and Rose style my hair, but more than that, they are some of the nicest people I know in the beauty industry. They're super warm and kind!

Hi Liz, do they also offer perming and rebonding? Do you think they're good at it? I've been looking for an alternative salon to my usual Korean/Japanese salons. Love your cut btw! :)

@Abby S that's a great question! I don't know! :( but the couple of times I've been there, I haven't seen them do a perm on someone. It's always just clients asking for cut and color, because that's their specialty. But who knows, they might have perming as well. Best to call to be sure. ;)

@Liz Alright will do. Thanks! :)

super adorable locks! I did read your first post about JURO salon and I think their services are great. Too bad I can't experience it since I'm from Cebu.

Free haircut lucky, layers are really low maintenance but evertime I go for bob, I always go for pantay pantay cut sa dulo, unruly kasi pag layered bob sa kin

You look good with your new look! Aside from the haircut I love your eyes too :)

Your haircut becomes you Ms Liz! I don't see a lot of people with curly hair who are not trying to have it straightened or gather it in a ponytail. It's refreshing to see someone with curly locks to just let her natural hair down.

I love how short hair works with your curls, Miss Liz! It looks so young, carefree and fun! Makes me wish I had curly instead of just wavy hair. ;)

And I also LOVE, LOVE, LOVE your look for the first two photos! Would you please do a tutorial for it? :)

May 15, 2013 | Unregistered CommenterJenine

Awww I think at this point it goes beyond blogger perks and they do it because they genuinely like you. Yay for fresh new looks!

Miss liz! I like your hair! I've always had long locks and I've always wanted to cut it short kaya lang I'm too scared to try it, lalo na ngayong summer, kasi I have really chubby cheeks and baka magmukha akong siopao hehe..

I envy your hair because of the natural curls! :)) I have long, straight boring hair, and the most adventurous thing I've done with is is to color it. But I really want to try perming it for a new look. Your haircut really suits you, and you're reaaaaly lucky to have it for free! :) How I wish JuRo can sponsor a free haircut giveaway so readers like us can experience their fantastic haircut as well. LOL!

@Ella I have quite a chubby face and I always wore my hair really long; it ran down a little above my waist, and I'd only have it trimmed every now and then. My sister challenged me to a "test of beauty", and I had at least 6 inches chopped off until my hair was just enough to cover my nape. It was really weird at first, but I ended up liking it so much that I haven't grown my hair out since then. If you're too scared, take baby steps: try a bust-level or shoulder-length hairstyle first, and work your way to that short haircut you want. Your hair will grow out eventually, so it's okay to experiment and go beyond your comfort zone. Hope this helps! :)

Do they have an outstanding wait list? I think I'm thisclose to bringing myself to JURO for a trasformational haircut (as if I haven't tried everything just yet!).

Love the style Ms. Liz! I usually get a layered cut as well since my hair is quite thick and can get heavy. Never really colored but I've had highlights a few years back. I really want to try though! Like maybe a nice shade of red or blue-black :)

I'll visit their salon when I've got my money :D But anyways nice hair do . but wait, what brand of lipstick did you use at the photo above that was taken at makeup factory? Is it a makeup factory brand? I just love the color :)

May 16, 2013 | Unregistered Commentersammy

Hi Phoebe! You might want to schedule with them na because Jude is going out of the country soon! :)

May 16, 2013 | Unregistered CommenterKrissy

May 16, 2013 | Unregistered CommenterOhms

I'm more of a straight-only kind of girl but I'm surprised at how well you wear this textured, layered, curly style. It's so cute and you look so fresh!

I love how your new hair cut looks so good on you Ms. Liz! It's been a long time since I sported a short do..& I hope I'll be brave enough to try it again. I hope there is a closer JURO Salon.. I live at Main Manila, too far from Taguig :(

Hi Ms. Liz! Sorry it's off topic..but may I know what eyeshadows you are using sa first photo? Ang ganda. Very flattering on you :)

May 19, 2013 | Unregistered CommenterAubrey

I love the waves of your hair. Honestly speaking, I prefer naturally wavy hair over "superstraight/stick-like hair" LOLS! It's been 5 months now since I last had my hair colored. I had it coplored and highlighted on the 2nd week of december. The reason why i havent had it colored because i want my hair to grow. Hence, the color will just be on the lower portion of my hair = INSTANT OMBRE! I know, I know. I sound too kuripot. SO what I just do is have a weekly hot oil/spa to prevent my hair from drying up.

May 22, 2013 | Unregistered CommenterDane Salazar

By the way, Ms. Liz, I have a question. Actually I rarely use shampoo because I find it too drying. I prefer using conditioner. But when I feel like my roots are too oily or my hair got abused and polluted, I use shampoo. Do you have any affordable recommendations on shampoo that is not drying at all? Thanks in advance!

May 22, 2013 | Unregistered CommenterDane Salazar

Indeed, Juro Salon's haircut is worth every peso! It might be pricey but if they can do their wonders for my seemingly lifeless hair, then I think I'm about to splurge soon! :) I love how your new hairstyle makes you appear more radiant, Ms. Liz! Elegant as ever! :)
