Pond's Original All Day Clean Towelettes

I randomly found these Pond's wipes in S&R while I was doing my groceries. I normally avoid the beauty and body care section because the things there can get quite expensive, but this product just looked too good to pass up - especially when I saw the ingredients list!

The Pond's Original All Day Clean Towelettes (P129 at S&R) are designed to remove makeup and other impurities in the gentlest manner possible. Yeah, it's the first time I've heard of it too! As far as I know this is not available anywhere else in the Philippines aside from S&R - but do correct me if I'm wrong.

This is a water-based makeup remover that contains extracts of chamomile, Vitamin E, green tea, white tea, and honeybush. These ingredients can help freshen up skin and improve its clarity. True enough, my face feels really nice and smooth after using the wipes! These don't sting or taste like anything AT ALL.

But that's not what I love most about the product. The towelettes are heavily textured, which makes it easier for us to remove makeup and dirt without rubbing too hard. Makeup remover wipes are usually smooth, like baby wipes or hand wipes or whatever. But these Pond's ones have ridges that can sweep away makeup effectively even if the formula is mostly just water.

These ridges are the bomb

I have to mention that this has a strong, but not unpleasant or overly chemical smell. It's a bit of chamomile, a bit of tea. I actually like it but if you're sensitive to that then you might mind.

Now, the catch. Since this makeup remover is mostly water and does not contain solvents for actually melting the makeup, it has some limitations. It can't remove film-type and fiberwig mascara (waterproof or not). At the most, it can only wipe away waxy non-waterproof mascara. It also can't effectively take off waterproof concealer, eyeliner, or heavy long-wearing foundation - at least, not at the level that I'm used to. But it is possible if I pass over several times. And I mean, several times.

Some heavy swatches...

Wiped away in about two passes. It's a good makeup remover if you're just wearing some BB cream, blush, liquid liner, lipstick, and eyebrow makeup. It's a different case for really heavy makeup.

I find that I still need to add some Bifesta or Shiseido makeup remover to the wipe if I am to remove a full face of makeup completely. But if I just have light makeup on, these Pond's towelettes work pretty well as is.

It's P129 for only 15 wipes, which makes it a wee bit expensive compared to the Pond's we're used to. In any case, one wipe is wet enough for the whole face (light makeup ha) and even the neck too!

Dirt bag

Overall, I am in like with the Pond's Original All Day Clean Towelettes. I wish it packs more makeup removal power, but the pros outweigh cons for me. I like that it's gentle, has all these natural extracts and that the wipes are textured. I don't really wear heavy makeup often so I don't mind switching up my makeup removers! I think I'll buy a few more for extra lazy days.

And that is that. Let me know if you'll be getting this or not! ;) Don't you just love random finds?
