Try before you buy, that's what my mama said

As a beauty blogger I am in a unique position to try a LOT of makeup, skincare, fragrances, and other nifty gadgets and services related to beautifying our body. Brands and companies usually send me products to review, and that's cool because I get to sift through a pile of stuff to bring you a curated list of what's worth trying out. But nothing beats trying something yourself, right? That's the proposition of online beauty sampling services, a fairly new phenomenon in the Philippines!

Basically, you can subscribe to a sampling site, pay a fee (depending on the business model) and get a curated box full of products in trial sizes. This way you won't need to buy a full-sized item item only to find out that it doesn't suit you. In the same vein, you can also discover good, spend-worthy products that you otherwise won't venture to try by yourself.

One such service is Glamourbox. How it works is that you subscribe for P595/ month (you can cancel any time) and get five pre-picked sample products sent to your doorstep. If you like them, you can purchase the full-sized items from their online store. Nice concept, eh? Fairly straightforward too. The down side is that the boxes are limited, so I am not sure how they're going to divide it among all their subscribers if they get too many people in. But hey, that's a good problem to have.

Anyway, do come join the Glamourbox community at www.facebook.com/GlamourboxPH and www.twitter.com/GlamourboxPH for more news and updates. :) Then let me know if you subscribe ha! I'm very curious about what's inside their first box!

This is good! Instead of investing on full sized items, we can try sample sizes to see if it will really suit us. Sweet :)

I wonder what brands they'll be carrying vs. SaladBox, which also has limited subscription.

Similar to Saladbox! :) Will have to asses which one is better, but I would love to subscribe to either one of them. :)

Waaa.. so hard to choose which one is better: Saladbox or Glamourbox. I have yet to find out!!!! But I will try to sign up in Glamourbox - maybe I wouldn't get in Saladbox if there are too many subscribers.

WOW! :) I would love to try in subscribing in Glamourbox. :> I also heard about Saladbox. Well, I think both are great. But which is better? Well, great concept huh? Instead of full-sized products, trial-sized are great especially if you will just check if the products are suited for you. Now Im thinking about the brands of products they will be carrying. :)

I looked into the site and yes it's such a nice concept and I now can see others doing the same thing nowadays (online). I'll subscribe once I get more funds! :)

I just signed up for this! I've read about those boxes of samples from international beauty blogs and wondered when we'd finally get those in the Philippines. I'm ecstatic to find out that there's going to be quite a few soon! I just hope they have a good business model so that people will continue to subscribe.
