FOTD + OOTD: Shifting
Wednesday, February 29, 2012 at 8:32AM I've had this Rajo Laurel x Plains & Prints shift dress for quite a long while now, but this is the first time I'm showing it here. Odd, because I wear it all the time! At least thrice a month, methinks. It's the perfect frock for meetings, but it's also something you can dress up for cocktails or even something casual.

Plains & Prints dress/ Ferretti wedges/ Nine West Bag/ Pinkbox earrings/ Avon ring

Yeah I know I can't pose to save my life, but I hope you get the idea. :) I see many, many happy years with this particular piece.
Anyway, here's the makeup I wore with it. I thought I'd feature this lovely eyeshadow palette from VMV Hypoallergenics called Morning After - it's the perfect duo for a light smoky eye that can be worn during the day.

Two eyeshadows blended, Umberocious, Psyche

Face: Benefit Hello Flawless Oxygen Wow Foundation, Cinema Secrets concealer, Bobbi Brown mineral foundation
Cheeks: Benefit Hervana Blush
Eyeshadows: MAC Prep + Prime Eye Base, gray eyeshadow from the In2It Pink Alert eyeshadow palette as the gradient base, Psyche (dusky violet eyeshadow from the VMV palette on top)

Gray on the lids

Blended the violet on top to get a gradient effect

Cleaned version with a brown bone highlighter to blur the edges
Eye definition: Benefit Brow Zings, Majolica Majorca Automatic Eyeliner, Avon SuperMagnify Mascara
Lips: Avon Simply Pretty Valentine Brights ColorBliss Lipstick in Fresh Rose
And that's it! Hope you enjoy the look.
PS - If you're thinking, "Wow she looks old!" all I can say is please, let's move on with our lives. :) That's just how I look and I rather quite like it.

Hi Liz,
No, I won't say you look old. I'd say you look really professional with that eye make up. I understand how clothes can be used in more than one event and I love those types of clothes. I love how you pulled off a professional look just by giving a smokey eyes effect for daytime. It looks so sohisticated :)
Dear Iko, thank you for the kind words! I'm glad you understand. :D
i love this dress! I especially like the color. It's bright enough but can be used for work too.
Whoa! I love your dress ^_^ and your make-up. You don't look 'OLD', you look polished and professional.

Hi Ms. Liz,
I always see you with eye make up in light or neutral colors. Believe me Ms. Liz, you look beautiful in eyeshadow with dark color. You should wear smokey effect e/s more often.
It's perfect that you tied your hair to give emphasis on the neck style of your P&P dress. Lovely!!!
Hi Liz :) I love your style! I always look forward to your OOTD's and FOTD's because they're always so chic and inspiring. I mean, personally they inspire me to explore different styles and colors. Thanks for sharing!
I agree with everyone here. You look professional, stylish, über sosyal and NOT old. i love the first photo, you look like the President of a very successful beauty/fashion empire (oh wait you are one with Project Vanity). :) i like the Anna Wintour-ish sunglasses on you, it goes very well with your outfit. :)
i like how you matched the color of your dress with those wedges! As i've mentioned before can't wear wedges. And for the make-up, it looks good on you. Ive tried using that and I tell u i won't do it again (by myself. lol). Hope you can also come up with make-up video tutorial :0)
Love the dress and the look... and no, you don't look old! ;)
