We all want to get our grubby hands on the top beauty products that can give us that to-die-for face, but the reality is that we can't afford them all. Expensive makeup is great but there are always cheaper alternatives that work pretty well for the price.
That said, a lot of readers ask me about cheap products I can recommend to students and those who have a limited budget to spend on miscellaneous stuff like makeup. I already did a feature on the ultimate makeup kit for less than P5,000, but since that's still pricey for some, I decided to come up with a must-have set for less than P2,000.
So, if you're a makeup newbie, student, or passionate bargain hunter, this post is for you! Here I'll list down what you should buy if you have P2,000 to spend on a basic but formidable makeup kit.
Am I predictable or what? This product remains one of the best drugstore foundations that I know of. Superb oil control, matte finish, and awesome lasting power keeps it on top of its game.
Damage: P440 for the refill
In2It should pay me for promoting them so much, lol. Just kidding. Their gel eyeliner is up there with MAC and Urban Decay, so for P380 a pop, it's a pretty sweet deal! Get the black shade for daily use. Don't mind my review photos, I only have gold.
This palette is intensely pigmented and has great color selection - most of these are dupes of famous MAC neutral eyeshadows. What I like most about this product is the fact that doesn't even need a base for the colors to pop and stay on all day! One of my all-time favorite drugstore palettes.
This product gives you two shades for the price of one, and it's housed in a sleek compact that's nice to tote around. It's not as pigmented or tightly-packed as I would like, but the colors are very flattering on the cheeks!
The Avon UMR remains as one of my favorite lippies to date. Love the light texture, scent, and shade selection! Its regular price is P299, but currently it's selling for P225. Go for Island Glow to get a gorgeous pink summer lip, but for everyday wear, I like Sheer Berry or Crushed Rose.
And so there you have it. I want to include a mascara, but I guess one can live without it as long as there is eyeliner. Hope this helps all the budgenistas out there!
