Concealer Madness Ep. 4: NYX Concealer Jar
Monday, February 1, 2010 at 9:03AM
I have long wanted to get my hands on the NYX Concealer Jar because of the rave reviews online. Of course, the price is too good to be true for the promised quality - $5 or around P300-350 from resellers. I had to wait two months after paying to get my hands on it, but I didn't mind because I thought it would be worth it.
It's not.

It's my fault really. I got the one in Medium, which I read was for NC35 skintones. Imagine my disappointment when I opened the jar, swatched it, and found that it's too dark and too beige for my skin! The horror. I waited for two months and it was all for naught.

So yes it's basically as good as trash to me. There's just no way I can use it because it's really obvious on my face - like dark patches. More pictures and serious review after the jump!

Ugh. Okay, okay, I'll stop whining now. I can't tell you about the lasting power of this concealer because I never wore it out, but I can testify to the creaminess and pigmentation. It covers dark spots and eyebags in no time. Not bad for the price, really. I can understand the good reviews. I'd go so far as to say that it's better than the MAC Studiofinish Concealer in terms of texture and coverage.

I wish it looks this good on my skin in person. I reckon this is a better match for NW40-42 tones.
If you're looking for a good, cheap concealer, this is worth a shot. You can get one at a good price at this Multiply store. Or you can just buy mine off me for P250. I just swatched it with a clean brush and never touched it afterwards.
This is the final episode of the Concealer Madness Series. Check out the first three ones!

Ugh sayang. I hate it when that happens, I hope someone takes it off your hands. I rarely buy makeup online, but I've been eyeing digitaltraincase for weeks now. The lip glosses are so tempting :)
I got NYX in light and I find it a bit too light and ashy; I think I should've gotten the beige one to match my golden undertones (thanks to my yellowish Chinese skin :|). I'm not particularly fond of the scent it has compared to my odorless Benefit Erase Paste. Needless to say, I was also disappointed in this product.
No need to sell it methinks. If you're a DIY-ho like me, scoop out a small amount and melt with some pink/red/brown lipstick (you can use a microwave or a candle) to make your perfect nude lipstick.
Or you can just use it as a 'lip-erase' product.
LOVE your take on Rachel McAdam's makeup! Will try it out myself.
