Ask Liz! > Dark Eyes. Help!

Hello Ms. Liz! Since I work as a nurse and my schedule changes every week(we have three shifts), my sleeping pattern is all messed up. My eyes have a dark tinge to them (raccoon eyes) and fine lines underneath. I was wondering what product can you suggest to remedy it? I went to skin food and found out that their eye brightening cream costs around P2,000+. It's beyond my budget right this moment. I'm currently using Garnier's Roll on, though it does lighten my eyes after considerable use, it does not remove the fine lines. And my eyes sill looks dull and tired.

Thank you!

I too can relate to that Nina. Try Celeteque Brightening Eye Tuck plus Dark Circles l
Lightener. It worked for me. :)

I swear I made a reply to this! Or was it in my dreams? Lol. Anyway, thank you, Ms. Lian for answering my question. I'm already a bit desperate about the condition of my eyes! They make me look always tired and stressed out. I hope that Celeteque's will also work for me! I'm keeping my fingers crossed. Btw, is it available on department stores? I have yet to see that one. Thank you!

@Nina: Thank you for asking this question, I'm also having issues about the skin under my eyes, albeit minor. When my body clock is screwed due to sudden changes in schedule, the eye contours become dry and dull and eventually dark.

@Lian: Thanks for the tip! I'll put off trying Garnier roll-on, since Nina already tried that, and use Celeteque first.

Good thing Celeteque worked for you! I didn't finish mine because I could not really see any benefit, found it drying even. And it stings! For some reason, I always seem to get the product in my eye, and I really tear up because it just stings! I have issues by the way not only with dark circles but with fine lines as well. What I'm using right now, and I'm about to hit the bottom of the bottle in a few days, is Avon Anew Genics Eye Treatment Cream. I find that it provides good enough moisturization and I believe it does a pretty good job with the lines. I don't think it erased the "deeper" ones that I have but I like how the skin around my eyes appear "plumper" and less dull. It does an okay job with dark circles, but I dont expect it (or ANY eye cream) to totally erase dark circles, especially if it's genetic. To take care of that and to really brighten the eye area, I use the eye BB cream from Garnier as soon as my moisturizer has settled. This one I can swear by.:-)

@Yani I like the Garnier Eye BB cream as well for daily use when I don't need heavy coverage. i like that it doesn't settle on my fine lines after a few hours.

Thanks guys for sharing your beauty secrets! Do dark eyes and fine lines appear because they lack moisture?

@Maybelle, I hope Celeteque will work on you. Do tell me what results you got after trying it. I'm still looking for the Celeteque Brightening Eye Tuck Lian mentioned.

@Yani, how much does it cost? I'm also tempted to try what you are using! :) Did it lighten the dark areas fast?

@couchpotato_md, I saw that product while storlling in the mall. I'm a bit curious. Does it act as a concealer on the eyes? And does it lightens the eyes after a considerable use?

@Nina I got mine at Watsons :)

@ Nina yes, nina It acts as a concealer, a light one for daily use. I haven't used it for a long time to say if it can really lighten the eye area in long term use but i have not notice any difference in my dark circles without concealer since I started using this. i think the garnier roll on , the one that your using has the same effect as this but this one has color for concealing the eye area. But what i like about it is that its light for concealing darkness on the eye area for everyday use and when I have it on, I don't have that dry, taut sensation around my eye area as compared to wearing other heavier concealers. And they don't settle my in my fine lines. so, i can say they help moisturize the eye area a bit... but I still use night eye cream though but i can skip my eye cream for day time if I use this.
I work on shifts also like you so whatever improvement on depuffing the eye area and lightening the area usually reverts back to its previous states after series of "toxic"duties. Our work sucks that way.

@Nina: Avon Anew Genics eye treatment cream costs 1299. But I got it at half the price because they had this promo last December. I paid 1299 and got both the night cream and this. If you're interested, it's good to ask the salesperson for existing promotional discounts. I know they have them every once in a while. So far, I'm satisfied naman. I'm planning to get another bottle once I run out. I can see the bottom of the bottle already but I think it can last me pa until mid-Feb. The benefits I get from this one are leaning more towards moisturization and help with fine lines, I'm sure it helps too with dark circles. For that though, I'm using Garnier BB eye cream talaga. It conceals the eye area and it brightens. Once applied, you might be scared at how it appears "white" but once it settles, it kind of disappears into the skin. Brightened lang talaga yung effect. I like it so much, I even use on my T-zone and as a highlighter. Garnier BB eye cream costs 300 pesos, I think. Mine I got from Landmark Supermarket. I still haven't finished it but when I saw that it was just 205 pesos in Subic, I bought another one. Hehe.:-)

@Lian, Thank you! I think I'll drop by watson's today to check if they still have stocks.

@couchpotato_md, are you also a nurse? :) Works sucks when your body clock is all messed up. Plus the eyebags and dark circle under your eyes. I think I'd also try that one while looking for products that could lighten the area around my eyes.

@Yani, Oh a bit pricey so maybe I'll wait for a promo first. It seems the Garnier eye cream really works since couchpotato_md is also recommending it. I'll try this one first then the Avon eye cream. I hope it also works well on me. Thankfully, whenver I miss a day or two in using Ganier's roll on, my eyes doesn't revert immediately to their raccoon state!
