Ask Liz! > Open Pores

Hi Ms Liz! What causes open pores and how do you treat them? :) I mean what are the remedies. Thanks!!

Hi Mikee! Large pores, from what I understand, are genetic. Their size depends on the width of your hair follicles, so a larger follicle means larger pores. It's just how you were made. They can look extra enlarged with dirt and oil if you don't clean them properly though, so a good routine is important. Have a facial one a month, use a clay mud mask once a week.

Other temporary solutions are pore-fillers - they do what the name suggests, which is to fill pores in with the product. Or primers, which are usually silicone-base and also helps fill in pores.

However, there's nothing you can do to remove them completely.
